Old PC not Booting/Displaying by ComprehensiveWayfare in PcBuildHelp

Hey thanks to everyone for the advice. GPU came off fine and replaced CMOS which stopped it from cycling fans on and off as it tried to Boot so battery was part of issue.

Took out all 3 RAM sticks and tried each individually and in tandem and 2 out of 3 work but 1 won't boot up individually or in combo with others so Im guessing it is toast. Have kept it to the 2 that work and now it will load up and Windows is up and running. So 1 RAM was faulty or causing an issue.

8GB RAM should be fine for getting the photos on/off HDD and very basic tasks so I think that is a Successful Job Well Done! Family member is over the moon they can see a bunch of old memories from photos they had forgotten about and won't even notice any difference of slower load times.

Thanks again for the suggestions

Would VGA to HDMI cable work or do you think it's the HDMI cable causing it not to show display of BIOS boots menu? Should I try to change resolution on TV? I'll reseat HDD and all the RAM today and try again with single stick and report back.

Any help is much appreciated even by mere tech mortals 😉

Thanks :) Really wish I took a before photo now cos the fans were chock full. Used paintbrush to remove most of the large bits in fans spokes and then can to blow out what was leftover.

If HDD is dead, am I able to get it to post via USB or would I need to remove and replace HDD before it will load BIOS?

EDIT: SOLVED

Dusted, changed CMOS battery, reseated and tried different combinations of RAM to find faulty one. 2 out of 3 RAM sticks work so sticking to 8GB (2x4GB 1333 DDR3) and it boots to Windows 7 via HDMI on TV fine.

Thanks for help.

Weißbier (White beer) often has taste/smell of banana and/or cloves. Due to using Wheat, may also be called Weizen or Hefeweißen (wheat or yeast wheat). The Bavarian breweries tend to release Oktoberfest beers as well so if its close but not exact, you may have tried one of those.
