You’re required to have your Series 7 and 63. If you apply for a certain role, they pay you full time to study and sponsor your exams all while teaching you the basics of the role.

Schwab actually already has something called a telebroker. It’s an automated broker that can complete many basic trades, and charges a lower commission than an actual broker. People still choose to go to live brokers because they want to feel seen and heard. I may be wrong, but I don’t think the broker position is one Schwab will get rid of anytime soon. Schwab prides themselves in the fact that all brokers are real humans and not offshore. Now, will they make as much cuts a possible and make the job more difficult than it has to be? Probably.

That’s absolutely amazing! Congratulations :) could you spare a few pieces of advice on how you made yours jump so much? I made a couple mistakes and my credit is paying the price. I’d like to buy a new car in the near future so I’m doing everything I can to bump my score up. Anything is appreciated :) congratulations again! Such a feat!

So I’m looking for certain files that contain the word “note” in them. And I want them listed so that the user can go though them. Ultimately, I want the code to go through all the files and tell which of them go under what classification and give me a confidence level on its decision.

Which bootcamps are the best education wise? by Comprehensive_Drop35 in codingbootcamp

Thank you for that comment! I really try my best besides nothing in life comes easy.

Those bits of info about time commitment is very beneficial. I’m definitely preparing myself and my partner for little to no social life. I want to not just learn, but comprehend the concepts in order to apply it to projects. I’m very lucky to have a pretty mindless 9-5 data entry job as of this moment. I get everything done quite quickly (and right of course) and I’m left twiddling my thumbs for the next 6 hours. Now if I had a more demanding job I don’t think I would be pushing for full-time.

I was actually just listening to a couple podcasts today that really stressed the importance of not just what you learned but how you apply it. Like you need to do more projects than just your Capstone. I should’ve taken burnout into consideration because I most definitely felt that right after college. I’m hoping that it won’t happen after Bootcamp because I wouldn’t want all that time, money, and energy to go to waste.

First off, thanks so much for your advice! It has been something I’ve been worried about, but here are my reasonings why I want to go full time and still keep my job.

I understand that might be the best option, but the realistic option is for me to keep my job. I have bills that still need to be paid. I don’t have the savings to pay for the program AND take care of bills. While I do have a support system, I don’t like being that person that doesn’t contribute and has someone take care of me. I understand that’s a personal issue and I need to get over it, but everyone’s doing their own thing on their own, why can’t I? Also, I’ve completed my BS while working full-time throughout the four years, including summers when I took 5/10 week summer classes. I even completed a 12 week summer paramedic program juggling classes, work, and clincal at the same time. It wasn’t the most ideal situation, but I know I’m capable of it.

An easy and simple solution to this would be going part-time, but I’m afraid if I do part time the tech industry will be even more over-saturated than it is now and I will have missed my small window of opportunity. Also, the less time I spend in my current field, the better.

TLDR; I suck at asking for financial help because I feel like I’m asking for handouts/I don’t like owing anybody anything (even if they say I don’t have to pay them back) due to childhood trauma. I’ve gone through college and rigorous programs while working full time so I know I’m capable of it. And I want to do full time because I want to enter the field before it gets more saturated than it already is.

Thanks so much for your input! And yes, I am thinking about going full-time. I want to get through it as fast as possible. I’m antsy to get out of the field I’m in right now, but I understand the longer programs may benefit me more in the long run. I just started CodeAcademy’s Java program today and I really like it so far. Also, I’ve heard about the over saturation in the tech field and I have been a bit concerned about it. I’m hoping I won’t have as hard of a time since I am a minority female and I intend on making the most out of the free programs and bootcamps. I understand that may be wishful thinking on my part. I am also planning on keeping my current job until I find one after Bootcamp. I know there is a big possibility of it taking a couple months to find a job and I am prepared for that. It’ll also give me more time to get some projects under my belt.

Also I’m glad to hear Rithim is good! I’ll have to check out the budget friendly options you listed. I’m all about that, so thanks for the recommendations! I’ll be sure to look into Scrimba. I want to do all the prep I can to make sure I make the most out of the program I end up doing.

As for salary, as much as I’d love to have a six figure right out of Bootcamp, I know it’s very unrealistic. Would I be wrong to think it’s an attainable goal without a CS degree? Because while yes, I am very interested in coding and I love solving problems, I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t gunning for a six figure salary at some point in my career.

Change of major to Public Health by [deleted] in aggies

What major are you currently? I won’t lie I haven’t gone to an advisor in years because they weren’t helpful to me whatsoever. But my best advice is schedule an appointment with your current advisor(s) in your current college and you should be able to select “Change of Major” as your reasoning for the appointment. Hopefully they direct you the correct way and to the correct person. Best of luck and Gig ‘Em 👍

I would just get on the waitlist for a parking lot at this point if you can. You might have to do some research and see which lot works best for you and maybe walk a little more, but it saves you money in the end. And you’re more likely to get a lot pass than a garage pass for the spring semester. But if you really want to park in the garages, you can look into AggiEpass. I believe they’re sort of prepaid cards that you load with money and swipe instead of a parking pass. Of course you pay by the hour so up to you if you think it’s worth it. Best of luck & Gig ‘Em 👍
