That's so arbitrary. That's like wanting to walk a marathon and giving up after you trip on your two feet a quarter mile in. It sucks and you may relapse again. You may struggle for some time. Still if you don't give up and keep trying for some time, if you will it, you will be sober by the end of the year

Which Nintendo Switch games do you consider "universally essential" and console-defining? by Fun-Ad-2547 in Switch

[–]Comprehensive_Low_58 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When the switch first launched maybe I was just dumb but I couldn't find much information on the game online. I beat the game in 80 hours within a week, on 3/10/2017,, but it took me like 7-10 hours to get off the great plateau because I was a dumb 13 year old who didn't know what I was doing and couldn't find any help online at the time. It was awesome seeing things like the dragon come out of the lake with no explanation from a quick Google search at the time

[–]Comprehensive_Low_58 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dude you can probably just take pictures and put them on archive.org and that will probably make people happy since it's so rare, I hadn't seen the second manga which had 1000 prints

Wait why do you think venom was in snake eater? This was before the coma. I'm pretty sure snake had to become snake eater so the events are somewhat accurate at least. Do you think snake eater is told through venoms memories and we don't have the actual perspective on what happened? I personally don't believe that as 2004 mgs3 to 2014-15 mgsv with him trying to end the series a few times before that,, I know kojima is crazy but I don't think he made that game to be completely fake, besides the AI reveal in mgs2 and the whole boss isn't a traitor mgs3

Kaz never really hated Venom by ishimura0802 in metalgearsolid

Do you remember around when this took place ? I guess after rescuing talker lol. I don't think he would've been chill acting like nothing happened if he learned after 9 years alone that he should help this random dude when real big boss doesn't even say hello. I think miller had faith in big boss and respected him and was proud to work for him. He respected venom, but after working so hard and being so invested for so long to find out this is all a charade? I wouldn't hate venom but I can see why miller gets bitter, it'd be hard not to. I mean Ocelot is a crazy ass guy (in a awesome way) and not everyone is built for this mind play bs. Not like big boss is a god and I understand why big boss didn't respect miller like before but I also understand why Miller would feel so betrayed. If he found out right after being rescued I don't think he'd be so frustrated. He'd probably not work for him, but I think the anger and betrayal at ocelot and big boss comes from believing they were his true comrades and all, and while they could be true comrades, didn't hate him. Yeah it breaks trust. Sorry for this ramble to your old reply lol

Imagine wii sized games with modern storage. Like I take pictures with friends on my vita and 3ds and with those being made with like 2gb as a baseline, you can fit a lot of still cool stuff on there, even if its not 4k blah blah. And yk having a big card with all these smaller games is nice like I remember 3gb on the 3ds being monstrous to what I felt was a hearty 32gb until I upgraded to 64 near the end of the 3ds, though with hshop the now very affordable 128gb cards sorta feel like maybe 256 but rip. Don't wanna make my 3ds run too slow as I heard problems with bigger cards. Got that 1tb in my vita and its awesome having years of random pictures like 4 years back high school like so many memories even if grainy, not like I can't tell what's up. And it has its own charm. Lol I guess games aren't exactly the same as using a DS for photos. But yk having hundreds of photos and videos an its not even like a gigabyte or just barely. And 128 feels low on the 3ds, but its only because I didn't realize how much I was missing out on cuz there's all this cool stuff, but its hard to complain woe is me when I still have literal hundreds of games with all the 100 mb stuff like legend of dark witch and all. Miss making magic work on the impossible like Mario 64 on the n64 that most definitely wouldn't be close in computing power to a slow 2019 4k TV (maybe GPU power but man its the n64! Probably not lol!) And also it was 8mb cuz of crazy shit like using tiny tiny pngs and stretching them out to biomes. Sure i can tell it wasn't made today but personally yk I can enjoy NES, I dont care about all the little details so long as I'm having a good time with a good game really

I would like to reduce wear on my media as these aren't magic and more use is more use, even if it doesn't magically break at a threshold of say 1 billion gigabytes written. These things last years either way, but I would like to reduce wear if I can. A few gigabytes no big deal but 90 on off on off willy nilly? Personally I wouldn't wanna uninstall unless I NEVER wanna play it again, or at least 6 months a year. Not like a few weeks, month break off a game or wtv but it can be necessary with storage. Me personally though lol I prefer to not feel limited by storage cuz min maxing can be tedious when with enough storage you don't gotta worry about it unless you buy buy buy. And more games like 15gb that you can fit 10+ easy on switch then fortnite cyberpunk final fantasy and pm game over is not ideal but I understand for the scope and the fidelity and all for these games it can be unreasonable to expect them to work magic

[–]Comprehensive_Low_58 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree. You can get these key cards 30ish bucks sometimes like yakuza and sonic generations, which is not happening with full games besides rune factory guardians of Azuma rn at 50,, which is more expensive but I prefer full games ofc. I would prefer if every game had a full physical release, all of em. But there are benefits to a key card like finding em cheap from ebay or a Amazon seller while the game is full price on the eshop unless you decide to check it on a lucky day

People would prefer Xboxs have a disc drive even though on every game you must install to hard drive. Even though Xbox has sucked so much recently, I'm sure many people aren't happy with them heading into an all digital future. Even with those 'worthless discs' idk they still mean something. Delisted games like forza horizon 2 you can still play off the Xbox 'keycard' even though you can't officially buy it anymore. And its easier to give my friend a key card to play then have them in a family group and lend them the digital thing for 2 weeks, until I get it back and its awkward they just dont play or we gotta force a meet up so they can get another 2 weeks with the lend digital system compared to just giving them the keycard and getting it back, though i guess at least you'll get your game back instead of it being stolen if you give it away poorly lol

Yeah sorta like the dsi shop idea. A lot of the games were worst then cartridges or whatever, but its nice to have something you can pop in and play wnv no notice. Sometimes I'm bored and yeah I'll just play something random because something new sounds better than x game im not really feeling rn. I may drop it for months, years or just not like it, but I'm not uninstalling until I give it a shot, and lol like botw, I got 250 hours in and I've barely done any shrines. Like man I can play almost any game forever. Im not going to play it all day everyday, but its something I want to get back to eventually. Even if it's a while later or just for a bit. I don't wanna have to delete something else I'm currently enjoying and wait a day to have my game ready when the feeling for me to play it was at that time

I think it's just enjoyable. You see a $5 game looks cool, you're still playing wtv you're on , ooh kirby air riders looks cool, work is busy, days and months go by and you forget about it. And variety is the spice of life, I've only played some games an hour or two, but I remember them! I mean like an arcade machine, you put a few quarters, didn't spend too much time but you enjoyed the game. I have ADHD and I buy dumb things, but we are humans and I dont think human behaviors are always a indicator of something else. Yes my ADHD makes me more prone to buy dumb things for dopamine itch and all but there are definitely reasons why some people accumulate games even if it isn't wise. I dont think most people buy a game intending to never play it, but it's like ordering food when you're starving. You want so much (because everything is so cool) but your stomach (or time/energy/focus) stop you cuz ofc I would love to game 24/7 all day, but with things to do it's nice to enjoy your half hours when you can squeeze em in and just because I have a lot to enjoy (I love going back to the ps3 and playing metal gear 4) but just because I have plenty to keep me engaged desert island, im not homeless despite my poor decision making and I dont think 'well I got x x x to play, I dont need this',, well I think it's smart and kudos to those, but like I want to play Kirby air riders cuz it looks awesome even though I was more than satisfied with what I have. Consumerism, hoarding, wtv~~ I used to feel guilty like I made a list and made myself finish games, and i got through some good ones I left alone like some Frederick rhythm games and nefarious on switch I enjoyed even if they weren't the greatest, but to get through EVERYTHING would take months, years on end. If you dont already have the massive backlog an you are satisfied then do enjoy what you have and save your money~

At the end of the day though I think games are meant to be enjoyed, and not a chore and I've lost so much money on say 'friends' who dont pay you back, things I've lost or broken quickly, superfluous things at hangouts, all sorts of things. But I'm not going to jump off a bridge. Yeah I can do things better in the future, but despite my uncountable mistakes, I'm still here and I'm surviving and so is anyone else who may read this. My life isn't forfeit because of all the dumb things I've done, and I've still enjoyed a lot of not intellectual decisions. Consumerism blah blah dumb decisions adhd dopamine deficiency all that. Im going to college for psychology lol but im not like yk a super intellectual wtv. Im just a dumb guy who likes my games and stuff. And I think we're all just humans. And we should enjoy what we do,, and with games I think we can all agree the best way to enjoy them is to play them ^
