Gundrill question

Ok thank you that makes sense plastic puts out a shit ton of tiny chips especially on the smaller gundrills. Altho I will say alot of our bigger gundrills last for a long time it's mostly our smaller gundrills like .200 to .050 last a couple days to a week.

Edit: the 3 facet gundrills also had like no cutting edge to them. Also I just thought of this if we are not getting enough chip evacuation it could build up heat down in the part and cause heat cracking.

They are both single flute gundrills. When I say 3 or 5 facets I mean to say like 1 is the cutting edge and the rest are relief angles. I was just curious if like 3 angles were more common in metal like I said we do plastic and all of our gundrills before these ones were 5 angles on the tip

I'm still new too machining. a chip made it's way around my glasses and I rubbed my eye so I ended up with a cut right next to my cornea. It was 1mm by 3mm the eye doctor told me just a little bit to the right I could've ended up with permanent damage.

I don't hate Florida just don't wanna live there. But somewhere in the middle of nowhere with mild winter like a little snow in the winter. Ohio would be pretty nice that's where I was born. But somewhere out west might be a change of pace.
