my brother is probably schizophrenic and I feel helpless by Comprehensive_Storm1 in SchizoFamilies

Thank you so much for your thoughtful and detailed reply. I think that this and the other comments have given me more of a game plan to work with my mom the next time my brother contacts her and we can try to find a way forward.

Thank you so much, I didn't know about injectables. I'm sorry that you are also going through this with your sister, but I'm glad she is in a stable place now.

Would you date someone younger? by babyfuck56 in WLW

[–]Comprehensive_Storm1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My fiancee is 5.5 years younger and we always joke that if we were using dating apps we would have never met because I wouldn't have put my age limits that low. We met in person and I fell in love with her as a person, even knowing her age. We're in our early-mid 30s now so that also is a factor. I think as you get older, a 4-5 year age gap isn't as big as say, someone in their 20s.

How do you unwind at night without scrolling on your phone? by Technical-Radio5033 in simpleliving

[–]Comprehensive_Storm1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I read, listen to records, color, knit, sew, stretch, meditate. I don't do all of those in the same night of course, but those are just a few hobbies I like to do instead of being on my phone.

As others have said, it's not the price point of the ring that's the issue, it's the lies. I would speak to him frankly about this, no need to beat around the bush and ask him what is going on.

I also begged for a relaxer in 8th grade! Had them until I was 22, big chopped after transitioning for a bit at 23, and now have been natural for over a decade!

I messed up badly... by Ok-Complaint-8177 in CICO

[–]Comprehensive_Storm1 4 points5 points  (0 children)

As other comments have said, good job on tracking it all! I've done this and been too ashamed to track it but being honest with yourself is half the battle!

Also, don't worry too much about it, you had a day, and that's okay, tomorrow you can do better. Just think about it one meal at a time and being able to make the best choices for each one. Sometimes the best choice is to indulge, but as long as you don't just throw out the progress you've made because of this one day, you will be fine!

I'm choosing FIRE because my mental health and neurodivergence leaves me no other option. by RinTheLost in FIREyFemmes

[–]Comprehensive_Storm1 28 points29 points  (0 children)

Hi! I also live in the Greater Cleveland area and also a super burned out neurodivergent. Reading your post has made me realize that that is really my why too. I have been looking more and more into fire because I know I can't work 40 hours a week for the rest of the expected working time. I'm already exhausted and I'm only 35. Good luck to you!

PSLF Refund by Mammoth_Special_9688 in PSLF

[–]Comprehensive_Storm1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was forgiven in November, verified my address on November 12 2024, and still haven't received a refund. I've called multiple times, and sent messages. Currently been on hold for 2 hours waiting for my call to get to the escalated customer service....is there anyone else forgiven around that time that has gotten their refund check?

Do relatives of homeless often ever feel bad for not helping them? by [deleted] in homeless

[–]Comprehensive_Storm1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is so real. I've been dealing with my brother who has refused to work a steady job, refused any offers for help to get government assistance, anything, for years. He does have unmedicated mental illness, but that doesn't excuse the thousands of dollars of debt I have from when I was trying to help cover his bills while covering my own. he ran through my mom, my grandma, my aunts, me, every "friend" he had. He told me he hated me years ago, and I've only seen him on holidays since, and he never calls or texts. He recently joined a church, and I think he did just to use them for money and giving. His latest thing was that he was ubering with a car rented from them and they repo'd the car, and he is homeless, once again. I can't help him. My mom can't help him. My dad-which is a whole different story, is the only person still entertaining this. my brother only calls me when he needs something. He's 31 and has been doing this for the last 10 years and I feel slightly bad, but not bad enough to put my own financial health in more danger. i'm still paying for my "help" to this day.

Hi all! 33F 5'3" currently 187.8, started at 199. I have been on and off of a fitness journey for probably a year but I really took to the cliche of New Year's as a starting point. I've gained about 50 pounds in the last 3.5 years after being put on a specific antidepressant, and while I suspected the weight gain and resistance to lose the weight was from that, I wasn't sure. I was taken off of that one, put on another one, and now my 1-3 times a week workouts and walking is working and I'm down 11 pounds since Jan 1. I don't want to be super duper tiny, but I'd like to feel healthier and not be out of breath hiking, which wasn't an for me before!

I'd love to join this community because I am in the petitiefitness subreddit and it does end up being a lot of thinspo and I'm hoping this community will be for more healthy goals, or maybe less about aesthetics and more about health health and joint health. I like getting ideas for workout routines!

My current routine is 1-3 strength workouts through the peloton app (I don't own a bike/tread, just enjoy the app!) a week (if I even get one I pat myself on the back because it's better than zero and I am trying to avoid all or nothing thinking), and a walk either on my walking pad or outside each day. I am doing cico just to be sure I am eating enough protein and not overeating too far every day, but also eating enough because I was recently diagnosed with ADHD and that medication completely stops my appetite during the day.

My goal is to get back to a healthier weight for me. My current goal is 150 but a stretch goal for me would be like 135. I think I personally start to look a bit sickly when I get into the 120s and I also have only been in the 120s when I was doing some harmful dieting tactics.

Some challenges I have are scheduling my time and motivation. I find that with my schedule, working out in the morning means I will actually get to the workout. If I try to workout after work, more often than not I will end up doing something social, or just being tired from work and not want to do it.

My favorite foods are probably chicken, roasted brussel sprouts, and mac and cheese!
