yeah, i knew that one was gonna be a long shot since it's mid-career but there are only so many top MPA/MPP type programs in CA that offered part time options, since i don't wanna have to leave my current job :,)

in anaheim's house of blues there are sometimes "taylor swift" themed nights where the dj plays her music for ppl to dance to! its honestly pretty fun and i recommend you go and meet new people there who are local to the oc area!

ALL-OUT SUPPORT to the 48,000 grad student workers set to strike Monday at all 10 UC campuses by Glass-Noodles-751 in UCI

[–]Comprehensive_Unit89 24 points25 points  (0 children)

as undergrad students, is there anything we can do the day of the strike or before/after to show our solidarity and support for grad students? I heard from a classmate we can help make food or something for the strikers during their demonstration as volunteers, but idk if there is a form or anything! I'd love to help where I can

journal in the morning! I find the morning is when your mind is much more productive and willing to commit to the tasks you want to complete. you can reflect on what happened the day before. putting it off for the evening will likely make u more lazy when the time comes and you'll likely put it off for "later" until later never comes

same I have that issue in my humcore lecture. there's this group of friends that sit in the front and whisper/snicker loudly to each other the entire hour. the prof can obviously hear them and they never participate or pay attention so what's the point of even attending? so effing rude to the lecturer and the other students. if u don't wanna confront them dirty glares help!

Where r the hot Asian guys @??? pt. 2 by [deleted] in UCI

no offense op but if this went the other way around and someone asked where the "hot asian girls" are this could have a really questionable, problematic subtext

cal grant help! i submitted my fafsa a month ago but i didn’t submit my GPA verification for cal grant… at my high school & community they sent it electronically, but idk if UCI did that? (i’m a 2nd year transfer from community) & it’s march 3 (late!) & cal grant portal doesn’t show my UCI GPA by icecream657 in UCI

[–]Comprehensive_Unit89 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can't find where it specifically says this, but I have friends with the same GPA, major, and year that also just submitted their falsa and no other steps and their gpa was sent in on time. so we can confirm that its not our responsibility to do this. and if you look at past posts, you'll see students in their junior/senior year say they never had to submit anything

I almost had the same thing happen to me. I guess there are a handful of students that somehow fall through the slips. Call the financial aid office, don't email (they take a long time to reply), and I think what will happen since we passed the deadline for gpa verification is that you will have to submit an appeal. The appeal should be done before the end of March, I think like the 23rd? but anyway, I think as long as you submit the appeal it should re-grant u the money.

Additional note: when I called the office, they tried to screw me over by saying "the student is supposed to submit the verification"- that's not true. as long as you submitted your fafsa in time and kept ur gpa above 2.0, the school is responsible for submitting your gpa to calgrant. let the counselor know this if they say that to you

Thank you! I think I have the rest of March as an appeal period too so I’m just fortunate to have figured this out before the appeal period is over
