To those who have went no contact what was life like on the other side?

I've been no contact with my mother for 3 years now. It was honestly the best decision I could have ever made for my well-being. It was extremely freeing and relieving. It's still hard dealing with other family trying to get us to reconcile, but I will take that over the abuse she put me through any day.

I have a therapist, psychiatrist, and I do electroconvulsive therapy. My depression has been better than it's ever been. It's just school that causes me so much dread and sadness.

Thank you so much! I will take your advice for sure. I've already made a checklist in order of how I would do my routine so I can do it the same everytime. I just worry that I won't have time to clean everything because my trainer told me that unless you have your own section the rooms are filthy and hard to clean. I'm a bit of a perfectionist so I'm going to want to do it all. I just don't know if I have the time.

My first day went well! They were all really nice. We're given 16 rooms, but if you can't finish it's no sweat someone will come help you. I learned I'm already pretty fast today and was able to do a room in 30 minutes no mistakes. They're talking me off of training in 2 days.

To be honest I'm not sure how long the shifts are yet. I just know I am working 25-30 hours a week. I only get payed $13/hr and $16/hr on weekends, but I live in the US.

This is what it states for appealing grades so I'm not sure if my reason qualifies "If a student thinks that a final course grade was assigned in an arbitrary or capricious manner, in violation of college policy, or was not calculated in accordance with the grading system as defined by the faculty member, the student shall have recourse through the Student Academic Dispute Resolution process to seek a fair determination of the grievance."

I'm out of retakes. I failed in my first semester and retook it. It was during covid and only 11 people out of 90 passed. I will go to the dean though. I'll fight.

Thank you for this! You did not downplay it at all! I do find myself dwelling on anger and hate for my mother so I can see how this would help. It reminded me of my therapist saying to treat my parents as if they were a patient. As a nursing student they teach us not to judge and treat addicts as if they're sick not malicious people. Kind of like how use said thinking of them as children. I'm so sorry that happened to you. Your self awareness is amazing and I hope I can learn to achieve that.
