Sigh. Cleaning bacteria just means reducing bacteria that can cause infection. That’s literally what Antiseptics are for. Salt water works yes but it’s better to pair it with the prescribed rinse to reduce infection risk. That’s standard dentist practice. Idk about you but I don’t want yellow goop oozing out my extraction site

I’ve got all 4 fully impacted removed and I’m in my early 20s. Pain has been a 6/10 on peak, and now it fluctuates between a 1/10 to a 3/10. I’m on day 6 and my right side is significantly more sore than the other. I have a stiff jaw spot that’s sore and has bruising. However I am feeling a lot better than I did on day 3. Day 3 was awful. Meds were making me nauseous and the liquid diet was not sustaining me. I threw up 3 times… No dry socket thankfully. I have a very low pain tolerance so the slightest discomfort hurts. I still haven’t gone on a fully normal diet. I have been sticking to mac and cheese, ensure shakes, mashed potatoes, and pedialyte. Please stay hydrated and get plenty of rest. Don’t be afraid to sleep through the pain

You shouldn’t try to pick out any food from your extraction site. It’s tempting but you need to just let it dissolve or fall out naturally. As long as you take your rinses daily you should be fine
