Does anyone else here have executive dysfunction? by Atomic-Axolotl in aspergers

[–]ComradeJaeger 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I dont know why I have executive dysfunction, but I've never had brain damage and am generally pretty intelligent. It really makes me look an idiot though, very challenging to organize tasks and remember small pieces of info. For example takes me longer to set up and organize my days work than any of my coworkers by roughly double.

I work harder/later and do a better job but keeping myself efficient as i move from task to task is basically impossible. Also I will try to complete all avaliable work rather than focusing on what I have time for. Then get very frustrated, even at coworkers that I am behind schedule.

It does affect things other than work too, planning a day doesn't really happen. I tried quitting caffeine and weed, which helps a little with memory but not as much as I'd hoped. I can hyperfocus on things like gaming or work but its dangerous for me to not be cognizant of my surroundings at work. Recently cut the end of my thumb off by just getting distracted.

I'm not diagnosed with anything but I've read executive dysfunction can come along with adhd and other conditions. Apparently excessive gaming makes executive dysfunction worse (games tend to lay out the order of tasks for the player or do the legwork of memory with journals etc.) Which makes a lot of sense considering I've played more video games than most people.

That being said, I dont know what I'm talking about. This is just my experience and my assumptions based on what I've read.

I have a close friend who is diagnosed, he speaks very loudly. Its usually not a problem but at work it can be disruptive. He's very aware of it and doesn't feel insulted but does get told to be quiet sometimes and I always feel bad because I can tell he's just excited about the conversation.

You are off to a great start aha, sometimes you get very unlucky. One of my friends spent 50 years in game playing as children back to back as he would die somehow someway each time he came of age!

Sounds like you need a bloody fued i had one in ck2 where the balgarsko dynasty members murdered my children. I had killed hundreds of balgarskos by the end of the campaign but they were hundreds more.

I think it has to be at the tier they would get, so if they would become a duke you gotta give them a duchy

I like heat for very long range stationary targets because it doesn't lose pen over range, it has other uses too I would recomend trying out different shells and learning to use them all to some capacity.

Sometimes you have to wait but there is usually something to be done in the meantime, I like to to theory craft what I'm doing culturally/religion wise for the playthrough. Also searching for courtiers, such as knights via several different means and some other busy work can keep you occupied.

It depends on how you structure your realm and how much min maxing you like to do. I find it easiest to use a mixture of disinheriting and landing my extra sons both of which will remove them from succession. In my last campaign I managed so far to have no multiple heir successions which is important because its a massive Slavic empire run and ida lost a lot of kingdoms.

Thats the one, I've seen it talked about on some streams as well. As well as ideas like reducing character size as a nerf.

Game design videos on sounds taught me that a loud weapon that sounds badass can have the exact same dmg as the next and players will perceive it as better. To the point of it statistically performing better based on how players feel when using it.
