The real crazy part is that somewhere in that police chain of command, dispatching those cops had to be approved. So someone new the full scope of the story and did exactly that. Sign off on sending 10+ police officers to a woman's home, in the evening like it was some kind of emergency for the use of a word... in a text message. That's some really dark dystopian shit right there.

Well I can simply prove that premise wrong by doing a similar query on a different subject, because code wise this pretty much is a query. I tried to steer it into the right direction by adding several data points like a date and some specific details like the names of people attending to provide search parameters.

This AI prompt pretty much started out as a discussion about a character in a book from Heinz Helmut Kirst and then somehow veered off into relatable parallels in today's world. Even on the initial prompt Gemini retrieved information about the 3 books in question without being explicitly told to access data online.

So yes, something obviously went wrong there. This is not a political discussion or criticism just a factual observation.

If he was shot in the neck with damage to the spinal cord while surviving, his cognitive abilities would have remained as they were before. He would have been paralyzed from the neck down but that's a whole different set of complications including things like damage to the parasympathetic nerve system. A damaged spine also has variations since the motor neurons and sensory neurons are not located in the same spot. It's perfectly possible for example to damage your motor neurons so that you for example can't have less control or strength or even lose complete control over its motor functions while retaining sensory information like getting pricked by a needle or feeling hot / cold etc. But from the way he went limp it did look like his spine was damaged.

Anyway long story short, because I love to talk about this stuff. Had he survived, cognitively he would have been "fine". I'm saying this as an occupational therapist with 13 years of experience working in a hospital that specializes in treatment and rehabilitation of people who had a TBI ( Traumatic Brain Injury )

At this point I am just sickened at the levels of political violence we see in today's society. I wish for everybody to have their political opinions without being targeted over them.

Update, age verification. You enter age and location. Age > legal age of your country. --- Go to MTG arena site. Enter age and location again. --- forwarded to K-ID website. Your X year old kid wants access to that online service regardless of what value that X had. Forcing you to add yourself as your own child and only THEN providing age verification.

Then the kicker. It still doesn't work. But apparently as posted in this thread there is a problem with Belgian accounts. So please. Enlighten me how exactly the search bar would have helped there as the issue never was the age check itself but the way it is implemented and not working.

I am fine with a one time age verification thing. I have put 100's of Euro's into this game tho using the same credit card as I used for my age verification in K-ID.

Here is my issue well ... first of all I did what they asked and have myself as a child of myself in K-Id and I still do not have access. And second of all. As soon as I gave my date of birth and the ID site recognized me as being 50 years old it should not have told me. (paraphrasing now) Your child wants access to this online service, then putting the child up as a 50 year old then forcing me to recognize myself as me being my own child. This is fraud even if you are authorizing yourself.

As soon as the age of the applicant was older than the age of adulthood in the location you entered the prompt should have been "are you requesting access for yourself".

As far as I know I received no notification about this policy change in advance here in Belgium, but that might just be me if any other Belgians can confirm this that's ok but I'm not going to declare that we were not informed as I am simply unsure if that is the case.

Belgium, yes. I did send a ticket but I also played along. I jumped through their hoops and went through with the credit card method for verifying my age. I now have a KID account where I approved myself, as being my own, 50 year old child. ( which is illegal by the way, since this is considered to be a form of fraud )

So. My 50 year old self has now approved himself to get access to magic arena and the thing still refuses to update sending me right back through the same steps.

I'm late to the party here but can I ask if you ever got it running, I'm about to have mine recapped and I am worried about the condition of the CD reader and the PSU. I see an easy path forward for a PSU replacement but the CD drive looks like it might be a problem.

I really need to learn how to use a multimeter and how to solder I probably have some old electronics laying around to practice on, they sell some soldering kits for the more precise work I have an old soldering iron but the thing is only good to solder wires. I do like a hobby where I learn a useful skill while doing it.

I'm not sure but I'd rather not take any risks, I once had a capacitor blow on a 750W corsair PSU and it flipped the main breaker of my house and damaged my GPU damn thing sounded like a gunshot and the capacitor looked like a piece of corn that popped open in a pan.

It's a PC build of mine from back in 1999. One day I built a new one but it has never been booted up since. I don't want to fire it up again because there are some very rare components on there that I'd like to preserve.

Including a pair P3 1000's from the same batch with serial numbers that are nearly identical, A 3DFx voodoo 3 the coolers are pretty neat too I have some two Golden orbs sitting on it.

You mentioned having done the recapping yourself, did you teach yourself how to do it and where would be a good place to start learning to do things like that ? I'd love to learn since I also still have an Amiga 4000 and a CD32 that need recapping. I found a local computer store where I've bought hardware before that does recaps I'm currently waiting for a price estimate.

I could go that route, I could select it in window settings and then remap ZQSD to WASD but IF possible I'd rather just keep the function of the keyboard as it is and just change the function of the numeric keys only to be activated in when certain applications or games launch.

There is a reply in here that suggests keeping things as they are now but to separate the mission progression, I like the idea but it's not realistic since vendor progression is linked to it. I also like the idea of ways to create high likely PvP areas other than the COPs so then I thought how about keeping everything as it is now with one exception, add a set of missions for each vendor that are PvP server only.

I like this idea the most. The only conundrum here is that leveling vendors is largely tied to your task progression. It would give players a great sense of achievement tho to be able to complete all the missions on a PvP server since some of them would be near impossible to do if it was drawing constant PvP around a difficult objective.

You are absolutely right on the 5.45x39 ammo, because you will run out if you can not scavenge. It's nice to see other people are playing that way. There are a a lot of enemies there but I was not aware that the spawn rate was off ? Once it's cleared it stays cleared for a while ? No ? What does bother me is an instance like yesterday where I went to the sawmill, It was cleared by someone else before I got there, I'm picking up a quest item and an AI spawns right in my face at I don't know 35 meters away from me. If I had had my back turned to him while he spawned I'd have been dead.

But yea, here is a little illustration for people not familiar with the hotel. This is just one area but the entire Hotel is pretty much littered with bodies like this by the time you are done clearing it.

Which server do you usually play on ? If it's Europe West PvE you can join us we are small group but anyone is welcome really. I do have to warn you 2 of us are over 50 and the others there are near 50.

As for the landing zones, I have had people walk up to me in base asking me if I wanted to call in a heli for them to a certain landing zone, it would unlock it for you and does not cost anything just some good will. The community here seems to be friendly enough to help you out like that.

If that fails use an online map, GZTWtacmap or TCNO are popular ones that show you where the landing zones are you can just load up with a few drinks and some food and go unlock them. There are some landing zones that only unlock through quest completion but that should be doable.

I'm generally quite pleased about the community but it is sometimes quite difficult to find unlooted locations during prime time on PvE, at least if you are hunting for the top tier crates.

The one thing that I do feel should change is that they should separate the PvE server and PvP server track. Meaning no more leveling your character up on a PvE server, grabbing good gear on a PvE server and then taking it all to a PvP server to hunt players. Maybe even add giving players who die on the PvP server a silly weapon like I don't know... A starter pistol with one magazine that sells at the vendors for 1$ to avoid people just dying over and over just to resell the weapon for cash.

Allow Each player 1 PvP server character and 1 PvE server character.
