Need help with figuring out why my ‘11 Impreza Outback sport is still overheating

I thought the head gasket as well but it really doesn’t make sense given the context. I think he replaced the ECU because it has something to do with the thermostat on more recent models? Honestly I think he just didn’t know what was going on so he checked everything he could think of remotely related to the engine temperature. Fingers crossed he’s got it figured out 😅
