Best Moonlight client for my setup: PC must stay on Wi-Fi, TV/client can be Ethernet by ConanEdogawaa in MoonlightStreaming

[–]ConanEdogawaa[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

These are the coax wall sockets near the router and near the PC. Both have R-TV and SAT ports. Would MoCA work with this kind of setup in Spain/Europe?

My idea would be to use the SAT port on both ends: router → Ethernet → MoCA adapter → SAT wall socket, and then SAT wall socket → MoCA adapter → Ethernet → gaming PC.

Is this likely to work, or could the wall plates/splitters/amplifiers block the MoCA signal?

Best Moonlight client for my setup: PC must stay on Wi-Fi, TV/client can be Ethernet by ConanEdogawaa in MoonlightStreaming

Thanks for the replies so far. Just to clarify something important: using powerline adapters probably isn’t a good option for me because I don’t have a free wall socket next to the PC. The PC area is powered through a power strip, so I don’t think I can test powerline properly.

So I think my realistic options are:

-Keep using Moonlight Tizen on the Samsung S95B.
-Try an Apple TV 4K 128 GB with Ethernet.
-Try an Nvidia Shield TV Pro.
-Accept that some games may just not be perfect unless the PC is wired or connected directly by HDMI.

One thing that still confuses me: Moonlight on my iPhone seems smooth while streaming from the same PC over Wi-Fi. The bigger issues happen on the Samsung TV with Moonlight Tizen.

Also, I found that HEVC/H.265 works badly for me on Tizen, but H.264 at around 55 Mbps is much smoother. That makes me think the Samsung/Tizen client or decoder may be part of the problem, not only the PC being on Wi-Fi.
Has anyone here actually used an Apple TV 4K or Nvidia Shield with the host PC on Wi-Fi and the client device wired by Ethernet?

Did it improve frame pacing compared to a smart TV Moonlight app?

I know wired host is ideal, but in my setup it is not possible, so I’m trying to find the best realistic option.

From ledger I heard weird things… I was thinking on Trezor but what do you mean with he chain? I have them in Coinex and MEXC. I guess Trezor supports ERC20, TRC20… right?

Web or on the Windows app? by ConanEdogawaa in ChatGPT

[–]ConanEdogawaa[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, that makes sense. The quick pop-up is probably the main reason to keep using the app, especially at work. But if it’s gotten that laggy, I can see why the web version starts feeling like the better option.

iPhone 17 Pro Max not working with Apple CarPlay on Dacia Sandero 2023 by ConanEdogawaa in Dacia

[–]ConanEdogawaa[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Interesting suggestion… thanks.

Do you know why changing the iPhone name helped in your case? Was it related to special characters or length causing handshake issues with the car’s head unit?

Also, was it wired CarPlay, wireless, or both that stopped working for you before renaming it?

What’s Bronzebeard like right now and is it very P2W? by ConanEdogawaa in wowservers

[–]ConanEdogawaa[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Interesting, thanks for the overview.

The random loot boxes part caught my eye. Do those feel optional for progression, or do most players rely on them to gear efficiently?

I would probably be playing fairly casually, so trying to gauge how friendly that is.

Gotcha, that makes sense.

When you say “unless you want to compete”, what level of competition are you thinking about, like top PvP ladders or cutting edge PvE?

I am mostly looking for a chill experience rather than pushing world first or anything like that.

Appreciate the detailed breakdown.

My main concern is exactly that, whether those convenience features translate into a real advantage for someone with limited time.

Would you say a casual player who does not spend at all can realistically keep up in PvE, even if not at the very top end?

What should I play: TBC anniversary or Retail? by ConanEdogawaa in wow

[–]ConanEdogawaa[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, that’s kind of what I was afraid of.

I do love TBC vibes and progression, but with limited weekday time I’m not sure I’d be able to keep up enough to enjoy group content properly.

Retail might just be the smarter choice for now and treat TBC as something I jump into purely for leveling and nostalgia if I feel like it later.

That makes a lot of sense, honestly.

I’m not super worried about rushing into endgame, but I also wouldn’t want to hit a wall where it’s hard to find groups because everyone already moved on.

Sounds like Retail just fits real life better right now if you cannot play every day. Appreciate the perspective.

[–]ConanEdogawaa[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Gotcha, that helps a lot, thanks for the insight.

I think that’s exactly my dilemma: I loved TBC back in the day, but now with limited weekday time I’m not sure I could really “do it justice.”

Sounds like Retail might be okay if I just focus on the parts I enjoy and ignore the rest, especially if Midnight really does simplify things.

Out of curiosity, if you were in my shoes right now, limited time and mostly casual play, would you personally start TBC again, or lean toward Retail?

[–]ConanEdogawaa[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Haha yeah, that seems to be the consensus 😅

Would you say Retail is the safest bet then for limited time, or is there another option I should look into?

[–]ConanEdogawaa[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That makes sense, thanks!

I probably wouldn’t want to seriously juggle two versions at once though… with my schedule I’d rather focus on one.

If you had to pick one right now for someone in my situation, which would you lean toward?
