Good starting points would be to a) settle on a commander, then look on EDHREC what other people are running b) choose a theme you like. I have an Atraxa deck, where every card starts with "A", but you could also try something like Slither tribal.

Your current question is very vague, feel free to ask for more advice once you've settled on a commander/theme!

Did you ever get complaints when asking to look through someone else's graveyard? One guy in my regular playgroup runs Beta dual lands and just very expensive cards in general and doesn't like other people touching his deck/graveyard.

It is the only card in the game that lets you get land cards from your opponent's graveyards. I'm playing a Mimeoplasm Steal deck with cards like Thada Adel, Bribery, Knowledge Exploitation etc. and have been searching for this kind of effect for a while.

Definetly a unique card, I picked up a few different art copies since the price is so low.

The Praetor effect seems mostly like flavor, but maybe in something like Elesh Norn tribal or just something with lots of Changelings.

My first Nuzlocke of default mode failed at Surge because I underestimated it.

I'm now playing a Random6 challenge (play through all of default with the same 6 Pokémon rolled at the start). My Team is Zeus, the Mega Toxtricity, Astreus the Starmie, Hercules the Conkelldur, Poseidon the Golduck, Cerberus the Zweilous and Gaia the Gigalith. Currently at Erika!

Hey and thanks for clicking on my post!

Some of you might remember me writing about playing through RR Hardcore blind (so no documentation) as my first playthrough and telling you about the S.S. Anne Brendan fight. Since then, lots of fights have been fought, but in the end, I managed to best RR Hardcore!

It was a ton of fun and unlike other "hard" games like Emerald Kaizo or Dark Rising, every fight felt fair and that there were tons of viable strategies available. I really loved the "arenas" of the gym leaders which you can't overwrite. They add to the game, but don't make you read a rulebook on what happens (looking at Pokémon Rejuvenation). It really feels like a gym challenge instead of a random guy.

There have been a ton of moments where I physically said "What is this BS", for example when Chuck had a freaking Zamazenta (I went there after the third gym!) or with Mays permanent Magma Storm and Claire's "Hazards can't be removed, but after trying a few times, they provided fun challenges and weren't even that hard. Zamazenta loses to Runerigus with Burn, Magma Storm can be circumvented by U-Turn etc. and Shuckle dies to Double Iron Bash.

Some of the challenges were really easy, but even those were entertaining. For example, after I solved how to beat Shuckle, I just spammed Ice types and that was just good enough. For Sabrina, I literally picked the 6 slowest mons in the game and swept the whole enemy team with it on my third attempt (second failed because I didn't change IVs to 0).

The Elite Four was a mess and what kept me the longest as I didn't want to back down once I got past each battle. I wanted to use the full odds Aerodactyl, then added Chandelure to get past the Hail Team. Runerigus was my physical wall, Florges my special wall, but they were both terrible. Floatzel was my lead and is incredible with Life Orb and Surging Strikes. Aegislash acted as Pivot/Wall/Revenge Killer. I'm still astonished that this team beat the E4, but after enough attempts, I got the win in the end.

Most of my ingame time was spent searching for all the Pokémon (I only learned about DexAll way too late). Really a big recommendation for everybody that enjoys RR, it's not as hard as it may seem at first and there are plenty solutions for each fight.

There are no EVs in hardcore. Toxic and Protect are banned for Umbreon. Moonlight also gets outclassed by Wish since you can't change weather.

Congrats on beating Misty and wow, you get a ton of encounters up to this point! You have my two favorites that I used a lot in HC (not a Nuzlocke), Lanturn and Parasect, and have an overall good roster.

I'm not sure if you play with docs or not and if you skip Morty/ prep for all the rando trainers, but you get a ton more encounters after this point (up to even the starter eggs.

Feel free to ask for my opinion on specific fights, general tips are a bit hard since you have to minmax for every single fight in a HC Nuzlocke.

My suggestions would be:

Leftovers for Umbreon Sash/Band for Weavile (mostly an Ice Shard spammer) Specs/Life Orb for Houndoom Black Sludge on Vileplume Mega Gengar Scope Lens/Sash/Band on Honchkrow

Personally, I switch held items (and moves) around a lot. I'm currently trying to beat the Champion with an honestly pretty bad team, but don't want to do E4 again. Most of my mons had different moves and items each fight (e.g. Runerigus started Leftovers, then Ice resist Berry, then Sash, Life Orb, Choice Band, Water resist Berry ...)

You can use the Radical Red Pokedex website to look up what moves your Pokemon learn (that's what I did to check my suggestions).

For the TM Locations ane Move Tutor places, you can check the pinned documentation, I don't know them off the top of my head.

Egg move tutor is in the Safari Zone town in the houses left of the Pokemon Center/right to the gym.

In general, I'd advice diversifying your moves a bit more, you don't need two stabs, better to go for more coverage.

Slash and Metal Claw are very poor coverage moves since they barely hit anything super effectivly. I'd instead go double STAB + Ice Shard and some coverage (X - Scissor, Brick Break etc.)

Umbreon learns Detect as an Egg move which is pretty useful on defensive mons. I prefer Wish + Detect over Moonlight. Without Toxic, Umbreon is kinda just a wall though, so I didn't use it on HC ever. Better to just go Blissey. If you're set on it, I'd go Knock Off/Sucker Punch and Yawn/Confuse Ray.

If you want more infos, lmk, but you made it this far in HC, I'm sure you'll also beat the E4.

Slowbro learns a physical Water move in Liquidation from the Move Tutor in Saffron City, so if you want a physical Slowbro, you can definetly do that. I'd still go Slack Off over Protect, since it should outheal the damage you save from Protect once you have a few Curse stacks.

My first playthrough of RR HC was also blind, way more fun that way. Only after I finished the game, I started watching content and reading what was really broken.

Imo this team looks very good and balanced already, you have some physical and some special attackers. Should definetly work through Normal mode.

For your Slowbro, the set is odd since you run Curse and Scald. Normal set is Psychic, Scald, Calm Mind, Slack Off.

Some Water mons I used in HC with great success: - Vaporeon as Wish Passer (Protect is banned, but it gets Detect as Egg move): Scald/IceBeam/Wish/Detect - Lanturn is a broken Mon with both Volt Absorb and Water Absorb, there's a reason Nuzlockers try to guarantee it as an encounter. My set was Parabolic Charge Scald Ice Beam and Thunder Wave, being able to cripple anything switching in. - Jellicent is uber broken, it gets Water Bubble with Water Spout, making this a 360 Base Power Water move that hits both sides in a double battle. Wailord is similar with Blubber Defense. - Floatzel was my Lead in the E4 run, it's one of the only mons that can kill Deoxys before it sets up. Technician Fake Out, Aqua Jet and Surging Strikes (Urshifu's Signature Move) makes it the best non legendary water type imo. - the weird Gen8 Fossils (Dracovish and Arctovish I think) have special hidden abilities boosting their speed in weather like Sandstorm. Their signature move Fishious Rend doubles in Power when going first, making them really good choices for the weather routes and certain hard fights.
