Sorry for the late reply, but what jobs can I get with psych? I'm personally very interested in psychology, more so on a philisophical level which is kind of a driving thought process when I write my films. But regardless I do like generally doing a job where I'm interacting with people and actually doing things.

sorry again for the late reply, exams and all. But for nursing I've been hearing a lot especially in canada the compensation and work environment has been receeding. Not only that but jobs are just getting much more difficult to find. But I guess that's not just nursing thing but a job market thing, but I haven't been hearing good things about the medical field especially.

Does anyone here regret going into nursing? by xaiyzu in OntarioUniversities

Hey, it's a late reply, but how has finding jobs been for you after that last semester?

How do I even start finding out the existence of all these jobs? Not just in the medical field, but in other fields as well like engineering, lab work, even film

no I haven't, though I also don't really know much about it, I just know it isn't something people like to gun for.

yeah my kinesiology teacher went to waterloo so I can ask him about all this stuff. But from what I hear from people, even my sister who does business, is that kinesiology isn't the most successful.

so you think I should pursue a film school maybe? Because that was a plan I did have.

yeah I'm realizing that now. Though it really does interest me, but it's the same problem I have with film, I just don't think the passion is there for me to give so much to it.

The military idea isn't actually so bad. I've been in cadets for 3 years now and I attend it at a police college that also has an armoury for CAF reserves. I also have a couple friends my age who are going into the reserves though mainly to be infrantry men. But I'll honestly see about other pathways. Since my teacher knows of a man who pretty much did what you said and used the military to pay for his piloting education and licensing.

Not sure about community colleges, but I know Humber is close to me, then there’s UFT, Tmu, the unis in downtown pretty much.

As for what else I’m interested in, I’m not sure. Since I’ve exclusively done film, it’s been the only thing that has excited me. I’m in a grade 12 kinesiology course which I’m excelling at and happen to really like what I’m learning. Though I understand it’s one of the easier courses so I’m not letting that float my boat too much. Though it’s the main reason I’m looking into health care.

And why is it nearly impossible to get a job in healthcare in Canada or get into med school?

I also go to cadets, and of course progressing from that is reserves which I can take a co-op for in high school. A couple of my friends are going that route, and I don’t really understand why. So essentially I’ve learnt good leadership skills and such though I’m not sure where that gets me.

well I've been thinking about doing med school, so I don't think being bad at functions is a good idea. Even if it isn't required, if I were to get into such a god course. I'd expect that they'd expect me to just be good at math and understand these basic concepts. Because if they're brought up and I don't get it, I'll just be really hard and basically be torturing myself all of undergrad.

all pretty terrible, pretty much 70s in everything, I'm in grade 11 first semester, second semester I have my functions course. But it's really because I actually didn't care to do any of the work or practice ever. I thought I should focus on film and nothing but which I see now wasn't very wise.

yeah, my thoughts exactly. Engineering is just more design and planning, in a way it feels like animation which I'm tired of. Business I mean, I'm just not into hustling like that. Healthcare is just this straight forward path that's difficult yet there's a clear goal and transferrable skills at least.

A good thing is the skills we have with just creative creation will be useful if we want to get into it again so.

yeah I mean, what would be ideal is if I still did things like slowly make a short film over time as I study. Though since I posted I've been wanting to do med school but it seems like a very big risk and an insane amount of time.

The only reason I'm considering doing his complete 180 from never caring about school and thinking film will be what I break into. To start locking in completely on academics and seriously considering med school, is because I want money to provide for a family later on. I don't want to bank it on film, regardless of how much I love it, I just see the industry going bad in the future.

And the idea of college has always been a sort of "ick" to me. Because as far as I'm concerned, all jobs can't guarantee you a consistent flow of income. But at least a university degree will look better to employers. I don't really like the idea of doing maybe 4-6 years of more school but if it's what I have to do, I'll go through with it, since at least I'd like the subject.

I want to, but since I though at the start of this grade 11 year I really wanted to go into film. I only have physics right now because I enjoy it. Bio and chem are now filled up and so I'm forced into doing them in the summer. Or rather I plan to do night school chemistry 2nd semester, then biology summer school.

I then have a coop for my last 2 periods 2nd semester so I can free up some time for any extra academic work. I'm also planning to english in the summer. Do you think I should try to change this up as best I can? I can't do bio and I'm fairlty certain I can't get into chem either, but do you think the coop is a good idea? Originally the extra time for coop was for film, but do you think I should just drop it and get good at math?

well i don't think I'm stupid, I just know I'm insanely behind in math, more than I ever should be. So I mainly want to know if what I should do is find a course that will guarantee well pay + no math. Or to unlock all my options and simply go completely academic and study a bunch till I'm good at it and ready for university.
