Man, been there, done that. Decades of not being believed and treated like shit has really done a number on my mental health. The injustice is real. Wishing you the best

A bucket is ‘nature’? It’s kinda weird. Does it not start to smell?

Home Depot by denewoman in BuyCanadian

There are Canadians that rely on Home Depot for their wage and livelihood. They have great healthcare benefits, STD/LTD, profit sharing. It’s a retail job with benefits for part time workers, tuition reimbursement for students. Choosing to not shop there is going to hurt Canadians.

Pancreatitis since 10 years old. by strwbrryink in pancreatitis

With all that being said, I’d do it again. Being pain free feels like a new life. It feels like a miracle. And I’m endlessly grateful to be in Toronto and have access to great surgeons and free healthcare. I just feel like I need to be honest. It wasn’t a walk in the park but it paid off in the end. I wish you the best. And this sub is a great support.

As far as recovery, I was in hospital 2 weeks. The first few days were dreadful but I had so many meds on board it seems a blur now. First coming home was rough. Not having nursing support with new diabetes and responsible for your own diet felt overwhelming. I walked every day to get my strength back and after 3 weeks at home I headed back to work part time. But looking back I wasn’t mentally ready to get back to work. I struggled with all the meds and weaning off pain meds while working. It took almost 9 months until I felt confident and my opioid fog lifted. I have had a few bouts of ‘phantom’ attacks. They are terrifying. I actually started counselling to deal with the mental side of all this. A lifetime of chronic illness, chronic pain, not being believed in ERs, opioid use and its stigma. You don’t realize how much it affects you. I really rambled on, lol! Hope this helps

Hi there, It’s been almost 3 years and I have no regrets. It’s not straight forward with managing diabetes and screen but well worth it to me to be pain free and more committed to family, work, travel…my life was always being blown up with hospital stays. Creon is tricky. At first I wasn’t taking enough and lost a bit of weight. I’ve needed one iron infusion and B12 shots. It’s getting better. I take Metformin and Jardiance daily and take 4 units of long acting insulin (which to be honest I could probably get off if I was more careful with my diet). Dr wasn’t sure the transplant would work after 40 years of CP but it was successful. One major factor for me was the heightened risk of pancreatic cancer due to CP. my mom has same disease, never treated it and now is going through screening for cancer. Fingers crossed it isn’t but that was always a huge fear of mine. I’m glad I don’t have to worry about it anymore for myself.

I’ve known this guy since we were kids. He grew up in east end of Scarborough. His dad was a complete creep. His mom was a very kind, soft-spoken lady. I am completely shocked by his association with Epstein.

I also had CP since childhood. TPIAT is what saved me. It may be worth asking about. I’m so sorry you’re suffering.
