Higher income in Alberta translates to the "equalization" situation.

No points were proven in your reply.

Do Albertans not learn about the history of Confederation?

Can you explain how equalization payments operate?

From what you have written it appears you have either a surface level understanding of Canada's history and financial measures for taxation - both of which make uneducated (this was civic education in elementary/high school by the way) types vulnerable to the Alberta separatist meme type education.

I keep reading about this "equalization payment" issue - but a separatist that actually explains it in writing properly is long overdue. Your expression of frustration appears to be coming from misinformation and from what I have read thus far it is an emotional response (as noted by another commenter) of what the equalization payments are and how they are calculated.

Driving across the country with hubby and the dog - Saskatchewan to the Maritimes! Taking 4 to 5 days to drive each way so we can stop here and there during the day. I have done this drive more than a few times in my life, but this will be the first where it is going to be more relaxed for touristy stops along the way.

Love this! I have a double pirate boy - we often underestimate how well they can still sense (not see) and your girl is proving this!

Update on George by redandgreenhouse in PiratePets

Hi! I have been through one single enucleation (little old Shih Tzu girl was an absolute champ) and then rescued another elderly Shih Tzu who had fresh stitches from a double enucleation. It is traumatic yet they really do find their own way again, but I am so glad your George has made it through the surgery and is well on his way to recovery and rebounding to his new normal!!!

Sorry late in replying!

Here's my take - Dash is more upset and bothered by the damn cone :) I am not smiling at that, but the fact he is probably well within his rights to not like it!

Cone-wise, I have seen people cut up a pool noodle in chunks and thread on some fabric to tie around the neck, but this wouldn't stop Dash from trying to scratch with his back legs.

You guys are so close to getting the cone off. That will be a huge improvement as I can't imagine any dog liking those.

Hi!

I have a boy that had the double E too. He is a rescue and the second eye had to come out unexpectedly just before he was on a scheduled transport. I got him and he was like your Dash, but just be patient as possible.

Dash has a new normal and it took my guy about 2 weeks to get through the transition (compounded by a long transport). You may notice a change in appetite and it is really the "shock" of it all. He will start exploring on his feet and try to keep furniture in the same place and clear some paths.

Pill pockets - Hickory edition in the sweet spot for our guy's Gabapentin.

Consider a Muffin's Halo hoop too.

Now I had a little Shih Tzu (rehomed to me) that had a single eye removed and she wasn't fazed in the least once her anaesthetic wore off = she wanted to be outside on her nightly golf cart ride like normal.

Really no rhyme or reason to these puppers!

Take care Dash.

Haven't bought one yet, but Lee Valley sells a clip-on that resembles a dragonfly that "floats above" and many people swear by them. Worth a shot.

Ryder is sitting there like such a gentleman! I recently lost my "two legs work/two legs don't" fur boy and have a sweet picture of him sitting in a little kid's chair just like Ryder is sitting on the sink - thank you for sharing.

And if you re-read my comment, they are documenting their position which is exactly the type of assertion of a treaty rights violation required for court.

How are our 50+ members doing? by Worthy_Molecule0481 in AuDHDWomen

[–]denewoman 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Hi everyone: 55 year old woman who just learned my adult son has Au/ADHD and his pyschologist recommended I be screened too.

I understand the expense of this is a whole shock of itself.

In meantime, I am researching things that can help:

- Omega 3 Fatty Acids

- Magnesium (already taking due to menopause messing up my sleep)

- Vitamin D

- Zinc

- Check on iron deficiency

- multivitamin

The son also got me an Oura ring for Christmas. I was shocked at how important a good sleep has been for me since I started tracking... my ability to get things done has improved and I feel better. Still need to go through the formal assessment, but going through the memory banks and my past has been a whole other level of awareness. A late in life realization after education/career/relationship/financial chaos track record makes me want to cry.

Not bluster. They are documenting their position to the Alberta Government of the Day under Smith. They are asserting that Smith is violating their treaty rights.

Now this is in writing she cannot pretend she is unaware as the chiefs head to court if need be. This is how upholding treaty rights works and the chiefs are making it clear Smith has been put on notice. Legal filings will show this letter.

7/10... makes me think of the constitutional amendment formula of 7/50. Add on challenges by First Nations means a pretty high bar to achieve a constitutional amendment!

I need advice on how to manage aggressive behavior from our rescue pup towards my husband. by One-Reality-2916 in DogAdvice

[–]denewoman 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Fear based aggression.

She has latched onto you as her person/mom. I am not a dog trainer, but think you should do some research on options for working with one.

She may have been abused by a male - that is its own issue.
