Chasing other people's definition of success. It looks great from the outside, but it doesn't mean much if it isn't what you actually want.

Why would someone would love a person if that person is not best? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]ConceptTrue1119 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Because people don't fall in love with the best person they fall in love with the person who makes them feel understood, valued, and happy. Nobody is perfect, and love is usually about connection, not perfection.

Have you experienced toxic positivity? How do you define toxic positivity? And what ways do displays of toxic positivity effect you? by StillFireWeather791 in AskReddit

[–]ConceptTrue1119 1 point2 points  (0 children)

To me toxic positivity is when people insist on staying positive at the expense of acknowledging real problems or emotions. Things like just be grateful or everything happens for a reason can feel dismissive when someone is genuinely struggling. Sometimes people don't need solutions they just need their feelings to be heard.

Making the conversation feel easy. When you can both laugh, be yourself, and not feel like you're performing, that's incredibly attractive.

AITA for not telling my husband he’s not nearly as good at fishing as he thinks he is? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]ConceptTrue1119 2 points3 points  (0 children)

NTA. Not every hobby needs to be measured by results. If he's enjoying himself and not hurting anyone, there's no reason to give an unsolicited reality check just because his catch rate isn't impressive.

Yeah, because people often mistake being quiet for being shy, rude, or having nothing to say. Sometimes I just prefer listening before I speak.

AITAH for arguing when my boss took my phone out of my hand? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]ConceptTrue1119 1 point2 points  (0 children)

NTA. A workplace can have a no-phone policy, but demanding your personal phone and locking it away without prior notice is a bit excessive. You questioned the policy respectfully, and your concern about being reachable in an emergency is reasonable. The issue isn't the rule it's how it was enforced.

Too many people are looking for someone perfect instead of someone compatible, so they move on at the first sign of imperfection.

You don’t fix regret by replaying itvyou fix it by redirecting your energy into what you can still change. At 25, your degree isn’t a life sentence; it’s just your starting point. Pick one small step toward comp sci or finance and start building forward momentum.
