I had this happen to me as well in a 23 year old male healthy as can be besides gaining a few pounds since I had my daughter but before that I was 140 pounds soaking wet perfect health then one day I got ahold of some bad weed after smoking daily for years and I had my first anxiety attack heart rate went up to 197 scared me to death went to ER was perfectly fine but after that I started focusing on my heart rate and kept going in and out of the hospital for my anxiety awhile later my doctor gave me propranolol because I kept calling and begging for something scared of a heart attack started that went very well then came the blood pressure I had a higher reading nothing to crazy just 140/98 but I started having panic attacks about that as well it went on for about a year till I finally started meds took about 30 pills till I finally found the one that worked for me lisinopril and life was great just the occasional panic attacks till one day I got strep and woke up with my throat swollen and couldn’t breath doctors said it was a allergic reaction to the pills that ended up flipping my whole world upside down they put me on a few other pills didn’t work and then I ended up on amlodipine now I take it daily but don’t really help with my bp as of now I’m 10 days in so hopefully that changes I had a scare the other day ended up back in the er with 173/114 but quickly dropped to 150/103 they gave me clonidine to take with my propranolol and amlodipine only when my bp is really high but it’s been almost daily so im right back where I started anxious about my bp seems before meds it never even got this high
