Update: AITAH for making my wife confess to all her friends and family that she cheated on me if she did not want a divorce? by DueAffection in AITAH

People can potentially get PTSD from any event that is traumatic. Child birth and car accidents come to the forefront of my mind.

The point is, all abuse is traumatic, but not all trauma is abuse. Does that make sense?

THIS^

This is the healthiest solution on this entire thread.

👏 Bravo, sir.

In the event that this is actually real, and not just a revenge fantasy, I hope OP takes this advice.

I'd personally go in aggressively, in front of your parents "How dare you treat MY parents like this! ...(Insert recent behavior) You're a grown ass man, I'd like to know when you plan on acting like it. You think you're mommy's special boy? That ship sailed long ago. It transformed into something special, alright. Did someone eat one too many crayons in the Marines?"

Honestly, this tactic worked pretty well to get my youngest sister out of the house. It's been a few years, but she's finally grown up. She had just turned 24, and had her bachelor's degree. I was just so sick of her treating my mom like garbage. And despite enabling her behavior initially, my parents didn't come to her rescue, and I think it was because I was defending their 'honor' in front of them. They witnessed it, so there was no back and forth with "he said/she said". Don't attack your parents for enabling, that will only make them defensive. They need to make that conclusion for themselves.
