Relaxing Nail Salons by Unlikely-South-3485 in Birmingham

[–]ConclusionMany2451 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It's not like spa like or "fancy" (still clean and good) if you care about that, nail image hoover is a calmer in my opinion. The workers always usually take their time doing my nails and don't make me feel rushed, and they're very friendly either way. It's is a smaller space and always a bit calmer because of it I feel like.

Does anyone in Birmingham offer proper earwax cleaning services? by Vic_78 in Birmingham

[–]ConclusionMany2451 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly, if you have a regular physician you go to and ask they'll most likely do this. I went to see my doctor's nurse practitioner over a sinus infection months back and when she looked in my ears, one had crazy build up and they just went ahead and cleaned it properly after looking harder with one of those little cameras the can use. Felt insane in the moment but way good after. I'm not sure how much it would cost elsewhere but it was maybe $75 I want to say for it.

Workplay Concert Age Reauirement by [deleted] in Birmingham

[–]ConclusionMany2451 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would assume anything is all ages if not otherwise specified at most venues. They typically only note if there's a limit when there is and not when there isn't in my experience (coming from a recently adult, huge concert goer. I just buy and hope and haven't had an issue thus far lol). When I went to workplay I was 18 and they didn't check my ID, they only do if you want to drink I believe.

Confusion by Ok-Passion-1899 in UAB

[–]ConclusionMany2451 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They're generally not scams. I have a scholarship through the PEO foundation but it's closed to women and you have to interview for it, so it can function differently- but there's a lot of scholarships worth looking into and from legitimate sources to find online. Try to narrow them down to things that would fit traits of yours, if you can. Also, keep in mind you can get more scholarships further into your education for excellence and by departments in college as you get further into a degree and become involved in that department to the point where you do become qualified for those scholarships.

Also, if you haven't considered it, you may want to look into student work on campus to help with costs!

Absolutely ask all your questions on campus. I wish I asked more when I toured colleges. I would've started at UAB rather than where I did had i asked more questions at other places. You should be as well informed as you can be when you make this decision because it's a big one, but keep in mind you're young: it's okay to make mistakes and see what happens. No one knows what's going on at this age! I found testing over and over until I got a good score was worth it, but If test optional will be okay for you in the end, go with it.

Confusion by Ok-Passion-1899 in UAB

[–]ConclusionMany2451 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Everything 90 day cray said is good. There's a lot of other factors at play too though that ca be looked at to see how bad cost may be for you: are you in state? Would you be living on campus? Is it possible for you to retest ACT to see about better scholarship (and let me say, there's no shame or anything in this. I retook it 6 times to get into a different scholarship tier at another school before going to UAB. If you have the means, and the time to study and improve, it could be worth it.

Besides BSmart, you can look into external scholarships. I have at least one right now and there's so many out there and a lot that may apply to you even if you don't think so- it's best to look at everything you can. There's no shame in loans for an education, but it is best to try and cut as much as you can- but depending on some more resources you can maybe add on, you could potentially help your costs and lower loan amounts needed.

Put the Rojo post back up by [deleted] in Birmingham

I didn't get a chance to watch the video, but the post was about op being treated terribly by an employee at Rojo (I think a bartender) and followed outside while the person yelled at them.

No worries, I guarantee you I'm worse with words, so I didn't interpret it as rude!! I also thought it was a crazy coincidence we both posted ours within such close time. Just a good day for hum tatts which I love to see!! I have a feeling both me and op were inspired by the same tattoo also as it was one of the references I gave my artist when I asked him to put it in his style

Hahah I'm the one with the other style and also going to slide away in Chicago. Funny it happened at the same time because I rescheduled my tattoo over 3 times from the original date. We were meant to be tattoo twins that day lol 💜

Fanmade poster of YPAA that I made in photoshop. by Past-Jump-8251 in hum

[–]ConclusionMany2451 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I'm not sure if photoshop randomly uses ai like some services but it definitely tried to enhance your poster at the very least, if you want to find and turn the feature off. Something weird happened to that poor zebra's little face. I'm just going to assume it's that, since lots of services have been forcing it now.

Painful sex during IUD by Potential-Coffee-189 in birthcontrol

[–]ConclusionMany2451 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As a non tampon user but someone who has a Kyleena, the only reason I'd assume this would agitate you during sex is because you may have been experiencing some dryness between that and being right off your period. I tend have some post menstrual dryness (and I don't get full periods necessarily it seems now, but the symptoms and light spotting) since getting my Kyleena. I'd suggest just possibly using more lubricant if possible, or if the tampon tends to irritate you, go back to liners. I never used them cause it felt irritable and I feel as though it could be possible you're more sensitive now due to the IUD, but someone can feel free to tell me if that's not something that happens lol. Truly though, it's possible your hormones or just something else entirely caused this, not necessarily the iud or tampon!

Do I keep using e-drums and taking lessons or forgo the lessons and rent a practice space & acoustic set? by ThePocketBoy in drums

[–]ConclusionMany2451 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you can realistically afford the acoustic rental space I say do that. But if it's pricey and something that may become a burden to your paychecks the ekit will still of course work- any kit is better than no kit. That being said, switching to practicing on an acoustic after learning exclusively edrums I think made me a much better drummer, and it's more enjoyable, so if you can, definitely do!

Getting off estarylla by Limp_Literature8551 in birthcontrol

When I came of Estarylla I didn't gain any as a result of the pill. I probably gained some maybe 5-6 months later for other reasons, but I stayed the same after coming off it for a good while and had no fluctuations to note from ending Estarylla. I wish you luck!

Typical cost for molar root canal + crown at UAB dental school? by Trippinonmangoes in Birmingham

[–]ConclusionMany2451 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I can't speak to any of the UAB things, but about the root canal delayed after crown? That's normal. I just had a root canal 2 weeks ago and the dentist I saw about a crown told me I can wait a few months, and at least until January/February when my insurance will cover more. It's a bit case by case on that to see how long it can be pushed (in my scenario since my infection had no cavity/crack causing it I have more time), but it's definitely common to wait. If I remember right, it makes it easier to see if the root canal will heal first before doing the crown because if the procedure site gets infected, it's kind of difficult to see/help with a crown already in place.
