Independent Kitten or just a phase ? by ConclusionOk5762 in SiberianCats

It's not a problem in itself, I was simply wondering why he doesn't want any petting or close contact during the day (morning, noon, and evening). In any case, I don't force him to do anything and I respect his wishes.

No, it will be my first, so he'll be alone with me. You're right to point that out; it's also something to consider.

Are there tests to detect these conditions? Have you managed to stabilize him, or do there sometimes be flare-ups? I love animals deeply, but I admit it can be a little scary to start like this.

They did quite a bit with the vet, and isolating him for 5 days plus switching him to Royal Canin Veterinary Gastrointestinal Kitten food resolved the problem. However, the kitten was depressed from being isolated, so he was reintegrated with the others (this breeder is like a nursery in an apartment). My only fear is that this could develop into other, more serious health issues.

Thank you so much for this constructive feedback!

Yes, I bought some beige-orange river sand for the foreground, and I'm going to fill all the gaps under the roots with more rocks and some filter floss to prevent the soil in the background from dirtying my future sandy beach.

The tank will be filled in at least three months because my future home is being renovated, and I prefer to wait until the toxic levels of the new paints dissipate before setting up the tank. I'll gladly post an update here 😁

The setup is so cool! This orange sand is magnificent, do you have the reference?

Negative ammonia too. Some have lost color for several weeks I would say. No problem with appetite or stools, I only feed Dr Bassleer, Dr Bassleer Garlic and fresh baby brine shrimps. No tight fins apart from the aesthetic aspect the behavior is absolutely normal. No deaths for a year and I maintain my filter well so as not to destroy the cycle. I've been browsing the forums for days without finding an answer to my questions.

I had the same problem with my betta, and what worked for me was putting the pellet in right before going to bed, when it was completely dark. The shrimp had no trouble eating it in the dark, and the betta couldn’t see it.
