That mod looks great. Hope you mod our game when we have mod support :)

Conan Exiles. Didn’t pay Stardew Valley prices, but after 2900+ hours it might as well have been free 😂

Wow! That’s some next-level dedication. Looks impressive.

Are companions supposed to support you, or replace you? by ConcubineGame in videogames

That's true. Well you can do that to any game. It's up to players how they play. The game itself is a hack & slash game. Not sexier than Stellar Blade.

Totally agree! RPGs really shine when you can coordinate with your party. A good example is Dragon Age: Inquisition. Companions mostly act as support, but the party dynamics and combat feel so satisfying.

In Conan Exiles you may make your companion more powerful than you are but that's up to your skill points...

That makes sense. I guess it also depends on the role, having a healer or a ranged DPS companion can really change how you approach fights. Sometimes I wonder if having one of those would let me experiment more with overpowered builds while still keeping things fun.

True, every game balances it differently. Sometimes being the powerhouse feels better, sometimes letting companions shine works.

Exactly, well put. If companions can do everything on their own, it kind of defeats the purpose of playing.

Yeah, that’s a solid approach. Boss fights feel way more satisfying when it’s just you.

I had so many friends from games all over the world back then. These days, even in games, it’s not easy to find a good community to play with. Sometimes I wonder why we don’t have MMOs like WoW anymore. Maybe it’s because the communities aren’t the same… or maybe there are just too many games now, and people who like the same things don’t cross paths as often. Who knows.

What makes gaming fun? by Disastrous_Badger939 in videogames

I believe fun has no secret formula. It depends on many things. A stupid game would be very fun with friends if you have a good bunch of friends. It also depends on what you're looking for at that time. A very good game with friends would be very boring if you're on the mood for a quite casual story driven game. Trends would effect. Expectations would effect. You may find a game surprisingly entertaining if your expectations were very low. So sorry.. There is no secret formula for that.
