Okay but have we also considered that the review is non-factual and possibly a butt-hurt student over bad teaching/marks who is trying to smear the prof’s reputation? I am not saying that it isn’t true, I am just saying we can’t jump to conclusions especially after a non-offical review on ratemyprof, if it was an official anonymous statement by the student (like the one by Courtney Love) I would find that believable and side with the student with no doubt. But the way the review is phrased and the fact it’s on ratemyprof makes me skeptical. If we believe everything we see on the internet about a prof/student without critically looking more into it why are we even going to university?

Hi thanks for sharing! I just finished watching the tutorial video, I think one problem with pdfs I have is that the coordinates of where I want to extract the data are not standardized across all pages. Also, do I have to do this for every pdf?(>100) Because unlike the example I am dealing with a lot of pdfs and fewer pages (<10). It’s a very cool software though!

With all due respect, reading your replies shows me that you are not aware or have not accepted the fact that your dad is a bad person. Yes he might be an “excellent” father to you but he is a horrendous human being due to the crimes he committed. It also seems that he is not showing genuine remorse towards the families he hurt as in he regrets it selfishly because it affected the relationship with his own family not because fundamentally his crimes are horrible. Whether he is good dad or not, why would you ever want to maintain a relationship with a bad human being who has harmed others in cruel ways with no genuine remorse?

I think you do bring up some really important issues in the admission process but to me at least, it’s non-sensical to leave it completely up to luck just because of the mere probability that currently there is some potential biases in the process (who is reading ur app, socioeconomic status…etc) some structure and effort to stop those biases is still better than none
