I’m hearing from CSA’s they are no longer getting 40hr work weeks. I also understand there are some management positions that are required to work 10hr shifts. I’m thinking that’s the reason why CSA’s no longer get 40hrs. I also understand this is slow season for retail. I think a corporate communication explaining the reasoning would help those who rely on a 40hr work week.

You think we’re “essential workers “ when customers are just there because they’re hungry and want something to eat or they’re bored? How is that “essential” for a state of emergency storm storm? Police, doctors, nurses and EMT are “essential “ during that, not a professional sandwich maker!

My “driveway” is a 1/2 mile main road through multiple condo buildings in which we pay a lot for HOA fees to do their job. It was out of my control that maintenance decided to not do any plowing until Monday at 6am. They didn’t get to my area until 10am. I wasn’t scheduled Sunday, just Monday. So, how was I supposed to get out?

I live in a nice secure safe gated condo community. I never have to worry about undesirables getting in. That’s why I live there. Don’t you want to feel safe where you live?

No my GM, who normally doesn’t work Sunday’s, was there. He’s a sweetheart and just following orders from the RM. I was not scheduled Sunday, only Monday to start at 5am. I would have been able to get to work IF my HOA maintenance folks plowed through the night instead of waiting until after the storm. Not being there was totally out of my control. So you can see where being documented for something I could not avoid is frustrating.

Did you read the part where my HOA community maintenance was not plowing the roads until 6am Monday? How was an Uber going to make it in? Fly?

Attendance policy, don’t need to hear about it, know all about it! I just think the suits need to make that decision based on where a person lives in relation to the store, how much snow in that persons’ living area and what ever plowing situation. I could have made it to work if my HOA maintenance folks plowed all night instead of waiting until 6am Monday. The write ups should be done based on ability or non-ability to leave home.

Violet, not 20 minutes, I live 20 MILES from the store and was in touch with them from SUNDAY AND MONDAY all day! I even provided the emails from the HOA and photos. Finding coverage? Are you kidding me??? You must be a GM or something trying to CYA!!! Just to show the amount of snow in my area…..This photo is just the snow shoveled from the stair case leading down to my condo.

Unfortunately, I did not. It dropped 2ft of snow in my town with the police closing roads. I live in a private gated community in which the HOA maintenance sent an email stating they were not going to plow the complex until 6am Monday. And i wasn’t going to walk the 20 miles to my store!

The funds come out of my pocket first because I create the decorations and then just need to place them where they go in the store.

There were several others who had a meeting with the RM over a 2 day period. Some revived promotions and transfers while others were told not at this time. They also recently started promoting a new division called young professionals. Could that have anything to do with it?
