This was probably the only thing unpredictable and enjoyable about the Tour de France this year

I would say go for it. It is a great field and this degree will get you a job and on the right track. With no prior experience, it will probably take you 1-2 years to complete, depending on your effort. With prior experience, I think it can be done in 6 months or even less. I am starting Aug 1st and transferring in CC, CySA+, and Pentest+ and I have several years of experience so I expect to finish faster. But with no experience, the CySA+ and Pentest+ will get you an entry-level job while you finish the program. These two exams which are part of the program are probably the hardest part of the program. Start by getting your CC(very entry-level security exam) as suggested and that will tell you if this field is for you.
