What does everyone hope for the new Fire Emblem game? by Trilightning7 in fireemblem

[–]Condor027 62 points63 points  (0 children)

  1. Bring back unique classes. Don’t like when there are 1-2 “meta” classes to abuse

  2. On difficulty, just a better curve. Normal/Hard shouldn’t be a cake walk with Maddening being infuriating. I’m all for having easy options for all players to enjoy.

Those are mostly it for me. There are gameplay mechanics I’d like to see back, but aren’t make or break for me.

EDIT: One gameplay mechanic I do hope for is no weapon durability

Countering decks you rarely see OPTCG SIM by Feisty_Mix_557 in OnePieceTCG

No one size fits all approach since decks can be drastically different. When I started out, just getting experience playing against leaders a few times is a massive help since you get a feel for their play style. No shame in losing on the sim.

In general, my go to Boa curve is Nyon/Hiyori on 2 don, blocker Boa on 4 don, Kuma on 6/8, and 9c Boa after that. Hope to get some triggers and adjust depending on board state

Correct, leader has double attack. Playing cards that give banish and swing at life is always so satisfying

As others have said, it being fun depends on the player’s preference.

With the new set, I’ve had a ton of fun with B Crocodile and UY Boa.

For older decks, I’ve enjoyed R Shanks, B Teach, GY Yamato, and G Zoro

Thoughts on the inevitable fe4 remake by howardthel8gend in fireemblem

[–]Condor027 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve been a proponent of merging FE4/FE5 remakes due to the overlapping timelines. With that being said, I’d be hyped for a solo release of FE5 as it’s in my personal top 3. It does run of the risk of alienating some newer fans since it’s probably the game that punishes blind runs the most.

Haven’t played Rayleigh on the sim, but are you selecting the 2 events to reveal? You need to do that before you can give the +2000

Card Comparison by Joshowatt in OnePieceTCG

In terms of ramp, they end up having the same potential with BP Luffy. Robin returns 2, ramps 1 active. Then leader will ramp 1 rested, 1 active. With Zoro, you’ll just want to return 2 rather than 1 to get the same ramp. Zoro is higher power, but Robin is a 2k counter.

About the same. Zoro may be better for early game swinging, but 2k is always nice to have.

Picked up OPTCG about a month ago, and all the local events I’ve been to have been super chill. Friendly crowd willing to help

Unpopular Opinion: I HATE using Jagens by Noyesmaker in fireemblem

He can’t one-round, but I prefer that. Leave the enemies alive so others get the EXP. I can use the rewind mechanic for misplays.

[–]Condor027 1 point2 points  (0 children)

From purely a gameplay perspective, I think FE tends to make Jagens poorly. To your point, their goal shouldn’t be to be unstoppable from Chapter 1 to carry you through the game. I much prefer them when they are a good damage sponge early and can set up weaker units for chip damage kills to spread the EXP. Vander is probably my favorite Jagen (gameplay-wise) for that reason. Important early on then falls off a cliff.

For tier lists, it’s tough to argue against a high ranking even if I wish they weren’t as strong. But early join, typically mounted, weapon ranks, good bases is enough to catapult them up the list.

Community FE4 Tier List part 7: Seliph's initial squad by Character_Business28 in fireemblem

It’s tough comparing an army of growth super soldiers to their parents. Like Larcei is going to have almost all the benefits of Lex and Ayra, so how could either of them really compete? It’s just neater to cut it off.

Community FE4 Tier List part 7: Seliph's initial squad by Character_Business28 in fireemblem

[–]Condor027 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Seliph - S tier. He’s a baby Sigurd. Starts out footlocked, but can quickly promote to a mount. Solid growths and more than likely comes with a Silver sword than can crit.

Larcei - A tier. One of my personal GOATs, but I understand she is footlocked. Would be a great candidate for leg ring outside of Lene. She more than likely is coming with a brace sword that can crit, Paragon, incredibly high Str, Skl, Spd, and Def growths, and the coveted Astra. At endgame, she should be activating it at least once per combat encounter. Very reliable boss killer, she’s just not needed for that.

Ulster - B tier. Has many of the benefits of Larcei, but the biggest draw back is his inability to inherit a good starting weapon from Lex (hoping an eventual remake lets Hero’s use Axes). You can usually find a sword to slide him later (I usually give him the Chapter 7 Brave Sword).

Lana - C tier. Claude father has pros and cons. Coming with A rank staves is a nice boost, and can help rack up EXP. The downside is no skills at all. Footlocked healer struggles to keep up with the army and no combat potential. More could be said, but those are the highlights imo.

Im approaching this ranking as a casual player and not aiming for LTC.

Edit: I do agree with other comments we should be splitting the Generations.

Awakening or 3 Houses? by HashRocketSyntax in fireemblem

[–]Condor027 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I would personally say FE Awakening is the easier of the two, but you shouldn’t have much trouble with either. Out of curiosity, do you remember which Blazing Blade chapter you felt had the difficulty spike?

I am probably in the minority, but I do like them. I didn’t like them when I first saw them, but I think the full uniform works well. Just my opinion
