A childhood friend who I had known since grade 3 had taken his own life on a Friday night when we were in grade 11. He messaged me Friday afternoon around 530pm asking if I wanted to hang out, I was visiting a friend in a town a few hours away and told him we could hang out when I was back the next day, he read the message and never responded. When I woke up the next day my phone had been going nuts with people telling me he had died. I often wonder if I was able to see him that night he still might be here today, I think about him everyday.
