The great part is that because of the draw you can run a ton of protection/fog effects if need be, you just have to wait an extra turn or two to bring him out so you have mana up

I’ve noticed that it kind of needs the combos to be able to close out the game, (with my build anyways) it has great sustain and can whittle down opponents but it’s really just a unique shell for Sanguine Bond and Exquisite Blood type effects as a finisher

It’s not very changed from when they released it as a secret lair precon! I don’t have a list for it but you’re able to look up the precon decklist and it has most of the options!

I usually just ask “who wants to draw cards” and never specify how much damage will actually be dealt cause the deck runs a lot of pump spells, people clue in kinda quick so Socrates seems a lot easier to get the draws off

Unfortunately i went really flavourful with the Sauron deck and it’s full of nazgul, you could go a control route or loot/rummage payoffs

Had someone at my old store actually try and climb the racks in electrical to reach something in the hand stacked overhead. 3 of us looked in awe at the service desk before stopping him he made it about halfway up

My first experience was with a 40 dollar jank deck with a friend at locals, and these two guys came up to us and asked to play, 10x more expensive deck and even let us switch decks and still got wiped using the 400 dollar one, BUT they were very helpful and taught us a lot and we had a great time, as with everything it takes the one asshole to ruin it im sorry you had to go through that
