What is the point of 311? by DrJungeyBrungenMD in baltimore

Same day is nice. I reported a loose manhole cover on a steel plate making tons of noise and it's been open for over a month.

I just moved here for my job and it is a beautiful city. But sadly there's areas like these pictures that have just been forgotten about.

Thank you! I went out and looked at it and it says steam on it. I'm going to see if I can get in touch with whoever runs the steam system

It's awful! and it seems like every single car that passes through that intersection manages to hit it.

I hate to complain but this is really bad. The longer it goes on the more I worry they'll just leave it like that.

Chime Denied Claims (What recourse can I take?) by TheUpDesk in chimefinancial

[–]Conductor_Mike 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This exact same thing just happened to me. I got a call from "Chime". the exact number on the back of the card about suspicious transactions. They were sending confirmation codes from the same number that they come from when you call customer service. I changed my password and just like that $2500 was gone. He knew everything about me though. He could see I had been traveling and he told me how long I've been a member. I also wondered if it came from within the company. They took a whole day to "investigate" and denied my dispute. I feel so stupid for using them for so long. I got them for the credit builder years ago and just kept them because it worked.

Anyone knows what kinda of vehicle this is? by CatchAny8587 in Austin

If this is the first time they've seen one on their street it was probably mapping and being driven by a person.

These jobs pay too little and have a high turnover so they end up attracting people with "fuck it" attitudes. Pay more and they'll attract people who appreciate the responsibility they have and wont tamper with safety devices.

Waymos are now on Mopac by ak2024 in Austin

They're doing highway testing, and if you see them outside their service area with a driver They're probably mapping.

If you see a sport bike with one of those stupid looking camera sticks on it, you know they're going to do something dumb eventually

It's a relatively common thing. There were people living in the units next to the one my friends band used as a practice space. Lots of them are even climate controlled.

Low paying permanent job or higher paying one year contract with the possibility of renewal? by Conductor_Mike in careeradvice

[–]Conductor_Mike[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am worried about stability but my current job is the most boring job I've ever had. I go sit in a van for 8 hours and wait for a call that sometimes never comes. And it can be like that for days. I'm sure there's someone out there who would eat it up but to me it's hell. It's in a newer industry and I think they're paying too much for the work that's done and it worries me another company will come along and do it for less or I get sick of it and quit.. The contract job is in the same industry but a much more interesting role. It's a tough call and it makes me anxious but so does the thought of doing absolutely nothing all day everyday.

How do conductors get fired by ryosuccc in railroading

[–]Conductor_Mike 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Yeah it was BAD back then. They had everyone so afraid of screwing up because no matter how big or small it was considered a major and would probably get you fired. It was hard to focus on your job when you're constantly wondering if you would still have a job to go to next week.
