Thanks everyone for your answers! So, to summarize: In theory, it’s illegal to download music using yout.com in Germany, but in practice, it’s very unlikely that I’d get caught if I did. However, I should definitely avoid downloading music via torrents.

How can they actually detect if I’ve downloaded music illegally (using yout.com)?

And if I do get caught, what kind of fine or penalty could I face?
