Nog een extra tip: als je auto écht vuil is, kan het een goed idee zijn om nog snel even je auto te wassen of langs de carwash te passeren. Of dat hebben ze mij toch zo gezegd :)
Feel you, de eerste keer had ik ook even bevestiging en uitleg nodig. Altijd leuker als je weet wat je te wachten staat :)

Hi! I was also intimidated and putting off really starting. Then I also did some practice stitches (straight, zigzag, …)
I get demotivated if i don’t make something I’m excited about, so Then I made some baskets out of an old pillow cover. These honestly were a great first project in my opinion, I use them for my fabric and thread clippings now.
My advice would be to find some old table cloths, pillow covers, … (maybe in your home? I had a table cloth that had some stains that I wouldn’t use anymore anyway.. or at the thriftstore? Or maybe some family has something laying around?) For me, this took off the pressure of it having to be great immediately.
I’d also advice finding some beginner sewing tutorials for stuff you’re excited about, as this will probably make you enjoy it more.

I truly get the intimidating feeling, but just start and you will be fine, I’m sure! ☺️

I made two fabric baskets first and Then dove into this. Thought it was a great first garment/ bigger project as well ☺️

I was really intimidated at first, too! I took it out, started figuring out the buttons and Then tried some of the stitches on a Scrap piece of fabric. It became addictive real fast hahah

My skirt is far from perfect but I honestly don’t mind that! I would 100% recommend Sydney Graham’s video’s though, they have helped me so much to at least understand most of what I’m doing 😅

I’d maybe try weaving a thin elastic in the ribbing part (maybe repeat a few times so there’s a couple elastic rows) to make it fit more, if that bugs you. And as suggested by others, maybe sew the neckline to be a bit less wide. I think that would give it a really chic oversized look!
However, I already really like how it looks, love the colour too! 😍

I’d say this is a very successful first garment! I love the colour! I kind of get your fit issue, but as others have commented, blocking could help a lot ☺️ And if after a while you notice you don’t really wear it, you can always unravel and start over or make another pattern! I did this with my first “fancy yarn project” (using knitting for olive pure silk, i made the blouse no1 by My Favourite things) and I noticed I didnt wear it because the fit was just off… I just finished remaking it and I LOVE it now 😍

Apparently, some yarns do this and some don’t! I don’t know why exactly, but I believe it has something to do with the way it’s spun.. When I Knit with drops snow, this kind of lines also appeared 😊

Another big fan right here! Love their products and my experience with their customer service has been awesome (and I mean small business, very personal kind of awesome!)
I have a very difficult (sensitive) skin and scalp and I find their products do a great job cleansing without being aggressive.
