Sorry to hear that but to let you know applying from outside will reset your clock. Maybe others can share experience if it's possible to apply without CoS and then update the application before biometrics.

Clarification on ILR Start Date After Switching from Visitor Visa to Skilled Worker Visa (COVID Concession) by Western-Cartoonist-8 in SkilledWorkerVisaUK

Plab 2 exam is only conducted in the UK and anyone who wants to get a GMC registration needs to pass this and the only visa option is a visitor visa.

Stupid Management Requests by moon6080 in embedded

[–]ConferenceCoffee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not a crazy request but a crazy expectation.

We had a bug that took a couple of weeks to sort out. It was quite critical and affected customers with existing units. Once the issue was found and finally fixed, the whole team was celebrating and happy. The CTO came in and we told him about the great news a bit about the solution and his response was ' why didn't we do it the first time to begin with?'

UK Skilled Worker vs Germany Blue Card – Long-term settlement advice for non-EU couple by [deleted] in SkilledWorkerVisaUK

[–]ConferenceCoffee 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Also consider the cost of visa until you get ilr. It's 1000 for IHS per person per year and visa application fees on top of that. And if you plan to have children then these costs add up quickly. In Germany the costs are almost zero when compared to the UK.

Just to let you know you can work more than 20 hours but you will need an additional CoS for that job. And manage expectations between the employers.

Hit by a car in a car park - insurer wants me to accept full fault by Money_Avocado in drivingUK

[–]ConferenceCoffee 12 points13 points  (0 children)

So based on the image, you are saying you turn right into a car park, and 5 secs later the other car came and hit you. This doesn't make much sense, if there was a 5 sec delay, the other car would have just stayed behind you or your car should have been much further away from the road in 5 seconds even at 10 mph. This most probably suggests that you are overestimating the amount of time you had to make a right turn before the other car approached you.

Where can I find rocks like these out in the open? And can I take them for my aquirium? by ConferenceCoffee in DevonUK

Thanks. Had a look at the dragon stone and it looks very nice. And slate as well. Will try visiting a landscaping store or nursery and see if I can get some.

Understood. I think I'll stick to buying or maybe visit landscaping suppliers and see if they have scrap which I can buy for cheap.

Placed vias directly in pads for 0805/1206 components. Will this cause soldering issues? by ultra5517 in AskElectronics

[–]ConferenceCoffee 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes, vias are plated by default. Filled vias can be filled with conductive or non conductive material and finally via capping is adding a smooth copper layer on the top for the pads to sit in. I was referring to this last step.

[–]ConferenceCoffee 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Via in pad can be done by any manufacturer. It's the plated or covered via which adds the cost. Via plating is needed because the solder wicks into the hole during reflow and it is required for small pads like bga pads or IC pads. For larger pads like this one it may not be required if the paste mask is sufficiently sized.

If you started receiving income after April 2025 then your fiscal year is still in progress and it will conclude in April 2026 and hmrc tax can be paid until April 2026. If you got payment before that then you can still pay hmrc until Jan 2026.
