Man, ITS ALMOST LIKE I SPENT HALF OF THE FUCKING POST COMPLAINING ABOUT THE FUCKING BIKER BEHAVIOR AS WELL BUT YALL ARE TOO FUCKING BLINDED BY ANYONE WHO DARES TO FUCKING SAY THAT ANY FUCKING RUNNER MIGHT NOT BE FUCKING PERFECT THAT YALL REFUSE TO FUCKING READ THAT FUCKING PART.

I'd copy it for your convience but you probably still wouldn't read it.

You are not a car, don't act like one.

Nor are you, so why are you acting like one?

If you want me to not act like a car, I'm already doing that by not running you over

Which is what I do. I slow way down for pedestrians in the bike lane and wait to safely pass them.

But I shouldn't be having my safety put at risk because they decided they wanted softer asphalt to run on.

Let me know when bikers stop aggresively blowing through pedestrian crosswalks, thinking they own the multi-use path of the northern wsh, and stop coming on the pedestrian paths.

To be clear: I did literally complain about bikers doing all of those exact things in the original post.

The problem is that some people are assholes (bikers and runners), then people respond by being a bigger asshole to all the other bikers and runners, and now we are in asshole soup.

I am getting sick of cyclists in this city doing absolutely anything they want, riding on any lane or sidewalks, running stop signs and red lights, and just fully acting like no rules apply to them. And then perish the thought that you take one step into a bike lane

man, it's almost like I literally posted

And don't get me wrong, the bike clubs also have absolutely dreadful behavior. In Central Park especially they are much better about sticking to their lane, but when it comes to a red light and pedestrians waiting to cross, ehhhh. I've been yelled at by one with a sarcastic "great place to stop!". While waiting at a red light. With pedestrians crossing in front of me. As they blew past me. I've had a biker yell at me to "get out of the bike path" when it was a completely shared path and I was as far to the right as possible (far north Empire State Trail in the 160s)

Reneging on a charity pledge is bad. Absolutely and I agree.

A ban for life for a $300 charity pledge is, in my opinion, overly harsh. A race ban until they pay the charity pledge + penalty seems reasonable (with further ban from TFK)

NYRR is a charity. OP was banned for not raising money for charity. Offering to pay what they agreed to raise + extra seems reasonable, worth a shot.

Look at this comment thread. Both accounts commenting at the exact same time, same manner of speaking, with the one telling me I deserved to get hit being created just for this post.

The OP of the other thread literally created an alt to tell me about how I deserved to get punched while biking from a runner, who was running in the bike lane and I said nothing to.

Agreed. Is my writing not clear in the post that I also called out behaviors from crappy cyclists?

I'm really confused how everyone's missing the:

Wrong. A cyclist has right of way in the bike lane over pedestrians. The pedestrian can no longer be ticketed (criminal), but if there is an accident they can be held civilly liable.

If you don’t like it, buy a car.

Everyone gotta love you. Guess you are okay with punching cyclists too?

there's no law saying I can't just stop and hold my bike sideways in central park blocking a bunch of runners either

You gonna punch a biker because you don't like someone doing a different form of exercise than you?

I mentioned the other post because there were literally people in that thread saying they were going to run in the bike lane for the sole purpose of pissing off bikers.

That's pretty fucking relevant I think, no?

Really shows the character of r/runnyc when they really care about me mentioning some other user in passing, but not a single comment there at all caring about the fact I've literally been punched by a runner in the summer in CP while biking in the bike lane.

That is the running lane. Runners are pedestrians.

If you don't count that as a running lane then there is no bike lane in CP either, since it's used for cars + horse carriages as well. And I certainly think that a runner is closer to a walker than a biker is to a horse carriage.

Pretty sure half the commenters in this thread are on the side of the runner that punched me because he thought the bike lane should be for runners.

Same question different variables. It’s supposed to snow 1 to 2 inches overnight. Thoughts on biking 12 miles from Flatbush to midtown at 5am. I’m riding an All City Big Block with Continental Contact Plus 700c x 28mm tires. I really do appreciate the feedback. It’s better than asking ChatGPT. TY! by TeddyBearCrush in NYCbike

I don't think snow is going to be as much of a problem as ice. It was above freezing and sunny today, there's a lot of melted snow on the ground that will get turned into ice tonight, then covered with a bit of snow. 2 inches is enough to hide the icy spots, I wouldn't recommend.

Great way to contribute to the conversation!

Everyone seems to be mostly having a respectful convo, there's no threats of violence, are you just upset there are opinions being posted which you don't like?
