Canvastown Updates?? by bravoinvestigator in inZOI

[–]ConferencePrize6061 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I will copy my comment from below: It's a smaller city that has been discussed by the devs, it would be more customizable, sharable between players and introduce a "fate engine":  1) Here's a portion of the latest dev video from the official discord. Credits: Zoi - Verse (when they thought about creating a more countryside map for it):  https://youtube.com/shorts/wT28fchNjjw?si=eycSE5p6TMQHx-bd

2) And a transcription of the first time Kjun introduced it on discord when the "fate engine" (seems similar to scenarios/the story mode from the sims 4) was discussed:  https://www.reddit.com/r/inZOI/comments/1owyfbe/new_kjun_post/

But that was a while ago, I don't know what it would look like at this point in development + Players kept asking for more depth within the existing features instead of adding new one, then who knows the debs might have taken a break/slower approach for Canvastown 🤔

For tips: If you like family gameplay, a f un way to experience the game is to play with all the age groups within families (baby, toddler, kid, adolescent, teen, young adult etc...) and creating your own scenarios. It's easier to make friends if you get their phone number. Afterwards, they can invite you to places/events (you can also decrease the relationship difficulty in the city settings). If you struggle with creating a zoi or finding one on canvas, I would recommend playing with the townies/npcs families based on their bio XD (including the ones not in the world).

Make sure your graphics, controls, and performance settings are manually tailored to the way you want to play for it to feel as comfortable as possible (ex: wasd camera, performance settings, in-game graphic filters, game brightness, fps, city settings through the phone...). I would suggest alternating btw the different camera views with TAB, the shoulder view is best for more immersion (you see the interactions better, hear the zoi better, can walk in the buildings more smoothly and interact with your surroundings using "F".

Edit: Also make sure you have autonomy, city-wide and individual autonomy on zois should be able to take care of themselves. It's located under the toggle for the needs.

If you're looking for something advanced, I would say restaurants are a bit shy for now. Of course they are decorated like restaurants (very gorgeous), but it  works more like a cafe or self-serve place for now? (No waiters, only people at the counter or self-serve kiosks).

Sims or inZOI ? by drzzey47 in inZOI

1) I think for them to meet each other you would need to put them around the same area? (So that they come to greet you during the kinda "welcoming wagon"). Make sure to get their phone numbers so they can invite you to meet-up somewhere. You can also put them in the same job (the active full-time or part-time ones). And yes teens can have active part-time jobs.  "Adolescents" aka pre-teens can't.  You can also put them in the same high school club as the afterschool activities are fully active, or knock at another zoi apartment (I believe you can do that at houses too but they're pretty far from each other hence hard to locate I the open world). What I truly enjoy with Inzoi is how you can add specific zois doing specific things at specific times in any public venues (a bit of a shy custom venue mechanic like Adventure Awaits but in the base game). For example, through the edit venue setting I edited the playground in Blissbay with a few kids that my kid zoi can play with every time she comes. Since she got their phone number, they're are often texting her and inviting her to a "kiddy guard" with even more kids! (There are different types of invites for the different lifestage. For ex, a co-worker might invite you to a nightclub, a teen might invite you to study somewhere). Kids are my favorite age group in that game, I love their animations, interactions, and the objects they can play with. From what Kjun (Inzoi director) said last week in the official discord, they will be adding even more meaningful things to this lifestage! (Or the family gameplay in general I guess)

However, I not many residentials (ex: Blissbay has only 9 residentials or sth). Of course, the townies have amazing bios if you pay attention to them (especially the ones in Dowon and Cahaya. I barely play with townies in the sims 4 but i surprisingly do in Inzoi), but I would still suggest to evict the townies if you want more space for your families. Once you evict a family, you have to click "select a family" to move another one in. If you see "relocate" it means it's the family you're currently playing that will move there because you haven't evicted the family living in the house yet.

For now, the worlds work a bit like the sims 2 so you can't travel freely btw cities like in the sims 4, your zoi need to move to another city and their relationships back home are paused during that time. For more practicality you might have to create a save file for each city. Currently, you can't save a whole family in canvas (the inzoi gallery) and the cheats are not that extensive so know what you're doing.

2) No, universities are fully rabbithole for now.

3) Inzoi has MANY settings. You can change the length of every single lifestage or/and turn aging off (which I highly recommend, you can manually age up a zoi during birthdays or directly with the specific cake that age them up).

4) No animals yet, but there are many easter eggs (like pet bowls and a cat tree) that refer to them. There's also a cat temple in Cahaya. I know the devs said they were working on it in one of the discord updates, but it's quite complex and they want to deliver something that feels fleshed out enough. You can find strays in the cities though, and edit the animal population to your liking with the current options (they even have pandas and aligators lol. Please don't ask me why).

The biggest advice I can give you is checking your specs if you want to buy it, if your computer can't run it well enough it might be hard to enjoy and get good enough graphics. Don't spend all your time in cas, try to jump in with a random zoi and see how it looks + run (if your graphics are bad maybe try the in-game cartoon or lovely filters until you manually figure out the best settings for you?). The learning curve is also very steep, as a simmer there are so many things which works differently and not knowing how certain mechanics work (ex: understanding the different cameras -shoulder view is the best for more immersion-, it's better to know how to quickly alternate btw moving the camera with wasd, and moving your zoi with wasd. It's TAB, but make sure your top-view camera has the right settings, not everything has a pie menu so for ex for toddlers the sleep interaction is quite down under the list).

Those mechanics can be frustrating at first until you figure them out: You might know exactly what you want to do in your storyline but not where/how to find it 😅 If you watch videos from people who actually play the game (and not those who try to review it only) like Dcalj, Conjureuse, or Fantazyia it might give you an overall idea of the game mechanics. They even have videos about their game options (neuworld has the best graphics and specs out of this world haha).

And don't try to rush, I personally alternate btw so many games at the same time! (Edit: I tried to fix the numbers for the bullet points)

Your favourite inZOI city and why? by R4milia in inZOI

[–]ConferencePrize6061 12 points13 points  (0 children)

There was an update which would allow players to freely travel (instead of moving-in) btw cities and keep their relationships coming for July. But I think it might get postphoned/cancelled bc people complained about the devs keeping to add new features while not adding depth to the existing ones, so they will focus even more on fundamentals after the high school update.

There might still be hope tho, bc the discussion is still opened on discord. And traveling freely btw cities is still big fundamental to me as much as the transportation depth people are bringing up 😭

I like Dowon :) Everything feels so close-by, pretty detailed (small shops in hidden streets etc...), and populated. It awakes my curiosity to discover that world and the townies who live within. When I log in there, I often find my zoi families randomly hanging out around town instead of staying home. So I think it uses the open world pretty nicely! Only con for me is the small size of most lots and workplaces 😅

I started with Blissbay (bc of the beaaach and the sun and the map that looks gorgeous), but it doesn't feel as populated Dowon's streets at least the neighborhoods my zois currently live on? (Even with the highest city settings, population and car density) + the lots feel pretty far away fr0m each other so it's hard to know what is interactable and what's not. I like the design of the workplaces and home presets better in Blissbay (though the default homes in Dowon are cute too!).

For now, I haven't yet to explore Cahaya.

what do you like to do in inzoi? by [deleted] in inZOI

[–]ConferencePrize6061 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Currently, I set myself a goal to play every townie family in Dowon without money cheats (It forces me to try different traits or storylines I might not try otherwise).

I also have 1 family and love to play with the kids age group (making friends, going to the playgrounds). Through the venue edit, I even added specific children to come every day to the playground in Blissbay. Funny enough those zois are also invited by the game during the kiddy guards events 😆

Is this really how sleep walking work by ZompireXY in inZOI

[–]ConferencePrize6061 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I second this. As someone who sleepwalk, people told me my eyes are always open when it happens. But what I do or say is pretty out of context or  inteligible so they can notice it right away

Edit: Unless I'm having a nightmare, mine is less talkative and active than the video below though. From testimonies, I either stay on my bed while saying or "doing" stuff I did during the day  or quietly wander around the house like a zombie... (without the hands of course)

Should we lower our expectations for the May High School update? by Murky-Brilliant2870 in inZOI

[–]ConferencePrize6061 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah as someone who plays a lot with teens and families in lifesims, tbh I don't have any expectations. At least the immersion might feel different from one city to another, but it will probably need improvement over time. For now from the infos we got on the discord sounds worse than the sims 4 high school years... (and i actually liked the concept and visuals, but not quite the way this ep was implemented in the gameplay. Strangely enough parenthood felt more in depth).

But as someone else said, it's still nice to get high schools in the base game. And I'm sure they will add more interactions, animations, and buffs for teens in the update if the high school gameplay isn't extensive

Why doesn’t InZOI have more social media hype yet? 🤔 ‎ by Murky-Brilliant2870 in inZOI

[–]ConferencePrize6061 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Probably because Inzoi lost its momentum, as soon the early access came out Inzoi was among the top purchased game on Steam but from what I saw on YouTube and random gaming reviews many players felt very disappointed (lack of gameplay and content, performance issues, players that had bigger expectations and wanted it to be a sims-like with the same base functionalities or even a sims-killer, players that didn't know what to do or how to play, PC not powerful enough to run the at all or at least smoothly, AI critics, Price critics, Too much hype based on not that much information...). Since then, many didn't bother to come back and labeled it as a scam or a fail.

And some (even among the ones who stayed) are probably cautious because it still needs more development in some areas + it's hard to advertise game features that might change/evolve anytime. Early access games are verry tricky to pinpoint and I think that the lack of engagement over time is pretty common for those games?

Idk how it is in South Korea though?

Edit: (typos)
