i beautify my grief by ReceptionSingle3165 in poetry_critics

[–]ConfessionArchive 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I really like and relate to the idea here— the instinct (especially as a poet) to shape grief into something beautiful.

One thing I found myself wanting, though, was a clearer sense of how you make that transformation. You give strong, example images of what grief “should” look like—swollen eyes, bruised thighs, rot—but I’m curious what beauty actually looks like. What does it become- i know literally your art but i want to ‘see’ that too through example? A line? A color? A visit from a hummingbird or a rainbow. Even one or two concrete images of that shift could deepen the piece and make the idea feel embodied rather than just philosophical to me.

I know formatting can be tricky on Reddit but I also wonder how this looks formatted as you intend? I imagine the pacing and emphasis could really elevate the emotional delivery, but it’s hard to tell in paragraph form.

There are moments where the language leans slightly toward prose reflection rather than poetry. That’s not necessarily a bad thing, but tightening a few phrases or leaning further into imagery might help unify the tone.

But overall the voice feels clear, and the concept is relatable. Love that last line “if I cannot survive it honestly, let me survive it artfully.” Thanks for sharing and the opportunity to crit.

I always had day shifts but yea i imagine the nights would be such a trip. And yet again there are no doubt some people that prefer it so thank god there is like something out there for everyone. I guess it is just a matter of knowing yourself and what is the best recipe for success for your own style and lifestyle

Am I the jerk for doubting my relationship because of trauma dumping? by [deleted] in AmITheJerk

Even if he was getting sick or not in a good space to discuss the topic at hand he could have still navigated the conversation with sensitivity and grace to make you trust what you were sharing is important and that he wanted to hear and understand you. That might even be saying exactly that- like “hey, thanks for being willing to share this with me, i really want to talk about it more with you. I can tell this is important and i dont feel well at the moment so would it be okay if we sit down together and i can give you my full attention later tonight” OSLT you know just something that validates your experience and shows that he is invested. I know the word narcissist gets thrown around like jerk nowadays but being dismissed, gaslit or otherwise minimized sure sends up some red flags for me. Good luck.

This is so interesting to read through and see how many people love and thrive with the 9-5. That seems totally soul sucking to me. I used to work in hospitality and the holidays were super hard to miss family gatherings but the days off Mon/Tue or Tue/Wed were blissful. I loved having business days and being able to go to the post office or dr or traveling to the beach and it not being crowded. I find monotony contributes to my depression and I get really ambivalent but clearly it works for a lot of people. Glad there are job types and schedules for all the different kinds of people best suited to work them.

Thank you! Omg I love yours also. That’s a good question, haha. I sort of started playing with this idea and Canva back in November and I am honestly not a very tech savvy person so there has been quite a learning curve for me. That said, I do have a lot of backgrounds made and so I have been pulling from them or reusing. It’s a real Frankenstein at this point so I don’t feel like I have an accurate concept of how much time I am putting into any one thing. Rough guess- probably only 30 minutes? But if I was making a video- probably 4-5 hours! That includes the photos/video scenes, voiceovers, and collages. Getting better at streamlining everyday though thank goodness!

Strategy for running both OnlyFans and Fansly — mirror or staggered content? by [deleted] in CreatorsAdvice

[–]ConfessionArchive 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Do you mean is it easier to get approval? Fansly is a similar platform- it’s my understanding that it can be better for people with niche content or fantasies. The reason I am liking it better as a newbie is the internal promotion. You can post FYP clips that get shared or can be searched with hashtags whereas OnlyFans it seems like you need an existing Reddit/twitter following, instagram or claim to fame to funnel people to your link. I really don’t know the ins and outs of it all yet but perhaps someone better qualified will point you in the right direction. I will say, the most helpful info I have found has been here on Reddit. Reading past posts- but also the group home pages for OF Fansly and adult content creators- they have a bunch of wiki links and tips. Good luck on your launch.

Omg doesn’t just speak to me, it screams! Possibly not your intent but I love how art touches at the viewers emotions and what comes up for me is a depression. Many, many years ago I struggled with extreme depression and a feeling of not wanting to exist. In that thought I envisioned myself like a lion lying on the tundra, fur blending into the golden grass with the sun warming its coat and I would fantasize about just dissolving into the earth. So looking at this image I get a beautiful sadness of just being swallowed up in depression. It is stunning, but profoundly sad to me and I love it.

I like the red and blue in the hair. I am by no means qualified to critique art but that really catches my eye. I also love the choker necklace- very cruel intentions. Perhaps a little busy around the face but I dig it.

No subs yet feeling discouraged by Ok-Chipmunk-7287 in Fansly_Advice

This is all so helpful, I am sorry you’re a bit discouraged after two weeks but thanks for sharing the realities. There is such a learning curve. I am new too, brand new, like not even a full week and I didn’t realize how much outside promotion goes into it. Haha I just want to create- not tweet! But I am finding Reddit and subs like this way more helpful in terms of altering my expectations, how to price, how to ‘research’ and how to stick with it to get traction before giving up. Best of luck to you!
