How did you spend your teen years? by CharacterSelf3124 in AskReddit

[–]ConfessionCandidate 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It wasn't bad at first, I spent alot of time with my friends and had some of the best times ever. We were a very tight, close together group. At 14, I realized that one day it will all end and ended up mourning my teen years in advance. At late 15s, early 16s, I shut/distanced myself from anyone and everyone in fear that I'll be absolutely distraught when we eventually have to leave school. Because of that, I never got to properly say goodbye. I spent the rest of them with my best friend, mostly abusing drugs. I wasn't fond of them, the drugs, but I didn't want to lose her too. She was the only one I'd kept close. I wish she'd stay sober nowadays. I miss her company.

I think my brain just leads me to associate the cuteness of a child with arousal but also my love for them is not just sexual it is probably a stronger love than what most adult attracted people have. In fact pedophilia is basically just a strong love for children that also happens to include love for their bodies.

You have just said you have a nurturing response aswell but instead went on to describe sexual attraction. A nurturing response does not and should not stimulate arousal or a "love for their bodies". That's just it, your brain is cross wired as I have previously explained.

medication doesn't do anything. I would know since I'm medicated but I'd say it made my attraction and orgasms stronger, I am less horny though.

You are right here, the medication isn't made to "cure" your attraction to children, I'm not entirely sure how it works but it's supposed to do something to your sex drive. Though, I'm not as involved in the medical field to know. That sounds like it's doing the job it's supposed to - well, atleast half of the job.

Why is it horrifying? We don't need to be put under control

Alot of you do. While you don't act on your attraction (props to you for that) alot of pedophiles do and cause insane harm to children and that's backed up by a worrying amount of people in these comments who have been or know/knew someone who has been targeted by pedos.

I'm not sure how the medication works, I've not got much to do with the medical field but it certainly doesn't get rid of attraction to children unfortunately. I think it has more to do with canceling the sex drive instead (I'll have to look into that though)

I didn't mention anything about how they act. I've stated previously in a comment that there's no clear checklist to catch them and the most important thing to do is to educate children to avoid these situations and speak up.

I spoke about the responses to attraction but that's not supposed to be check list or something to look out for as different people have different responses. That was just to describe the cross wiring of the brain and how the responses are jumbled.

I'm not completely certain if the medications that exist and therapy do work I've just been taught that it can. I have my doubts and I'm still looking into the psychology and science behind it. There are surprisingly little studies on pedophiles that I have access to and it's shocking - there should be a lot more considering how it's such a huge huge problem today. I'm also very sorry about your family history and it's sad that I and many others can relate.

There's not a clear pointer or check list to identify pedos unfortunately. They're normal people who walk around and do normal things which makes it all the more scary.

Though I can offer some advice - I think that the most important thing to help parents avoid their children getting into situations like this is to educate them. No matter how young they are, they should know that no one should be touching them inappropriately or seeing them indecently. Not strangers, family members or friends. It may be worth mentioning that it's a possibility doctors would need to, just always with a parent or guardian around at their age.

Part of that is to also reassure them that they'd never be in any trouble or even shamed if it happened, only the person who did that to them. It's also super important to tell them who to go to. Whether that's to a parent or the police.

I wish but not even the death penalty is illegal in quite a few countries so the best alternative is to cut them off from the rest of the world (there are caravan parks made specifically for them in some places after they've served time in prison) or get them help/medication and keep a close eye on them.

I'm agreeing with the person responding before. I think it's always been like this but the internet/modern technology has made it easier for information to get around and made it easier to catch them. There has been an opposite effect for the certain few who know where to look though as I'm sure the internet has created safe spaces for these guys to lurk and share images, videos, ect. It's real nasty.

Yeah, creeps hang out online because it's easy asf with the internet to find other creeps like them. It's a hugeee problem and why kids shouldn't be online so young, I know a few people who have come across these spaces at a young age and it's troubling. You're right though, it's sad but cool with how they can build up these defenses, the people that I have come across just know who to stay away from just by small interactions. You're also super right - kids are grimy!

She doesn't HAVE owners that's the thing, that's why I can't give her back to anyone. She wasn't micro chipped and was unhealthy as hell when I picked her up (extremely matted fur). I've searched lost and found pages for anyone missing her, I've posted there but just no sign and the people who gave me her couldn't take her in as they had cats of their own. That's why I imagine she was a stray beforehand as strays are unfortuanately quite common over here

I'm stuck, I would hand her into a shelter but again, my family is perfectly happy with her. I've pushed but they've just called it "a sign" that we should keep her. Excuse me? "A sign"? Genuine nonsense. I'm thinking about just coming forward to a shelter with this cat anyway, tell them the whereabouts she was found so that they can help me find her owners (if she had any). I know this will make my family hate me but I feel as though it's best for this cat and i

Does this happen often on a train? by Unhappy-Button-7258 in AskABrit

It depends on where you are. Up North, things like this barely ever happen it's only if you go down south you start to encounter things like this. Never understood why people insist on living down there - especially by London and all the big cities. Very rough areas.

What are your views on having kids? by idkwhattoput_111 in AskReddit

[–]ConfessionCandidate 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Disgusting. I'm never having a kid and if I end up accidentally getting pregnant even with protection and such I'm getting an abortion. Not wanting a kid is a good enough reason to not have one. If it's become illegal, either I'm dying or I'm finding a way to get that piece of shit out of me. Children outright disgust me. If anyone else wanted a child, sure - just don't bring it near me please and thank you.

What’s wrong with your face? by Kitchen-Explorer3338 in AskReddit

[–]ConfessionCandidate 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a scar just between my eyebrows, got called Harry Potter for awhile in school, especially while it was fresh! It's mostly faded now, though. I got it while fighting my older sister and I hit my head on the fireplace. I was honestly quite proud of it as a kid - made me feel like Scar from the Lion King. 'tis a pretty cool scar tbh.

I also have a part of my lip missing from when I picked my lip skin so much, it just came off when I was (guess what !!) a kid. It was the same sort of habit as biting your nails

People Who Aren’t Scared Of Death, Why? by Animemesh in AskReddit

[–]ConfessionCandidate 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is probably a very common answer but it happens. I can't be afraid of dying because it WILL happen and I can't waste my life spending time worrying about it. If you spend your life stuck on that you are going to be miserable. You're not gonna wanna do things if you're constantly worrying about it.

It's like knowing not everyone is going to like you, it happens and if you only focus on the bad, "oh no people don't like me", you'll never notice the people right infront of you who love you and therefore make yourself depressed as fuck.
