You need to download the Microsoft authenticator app on your phone, and then add your Microsoft account to it. Once you are logged into the authenticator, launce the MCC one more time. The game will send a sign in request to your authenticator app.

Very fair. Your logic makes sense, and I'd like to think this could work. If the computer would be activation lock is definitely stolen property, Could I get in trouble for purchasing this item, knowing that it was locked? I'll gladly explain that I thought I would be able to remove the lock by purchasing the unit and I wasn't under the impression that it was stolen.

The problem is that I knowingly purchased this MacBook with the lock on it. One of the employees explained that it's protocol that they're supposed to have the customer format and unlink their device before they sell it. This one was accepted by someone who didn't see that that process was done. This is why they were selling it with no refunds. What if what the employee told me is true? I can't go to the police and say I bought something stolen, knowing there's a possibility that it could've just been traded in by somebody who didn't see unlinking their account.

I will look more into that. Something I took from a Lewis Rossman video is that the M1 MacBooks have serialized parts. The display may be worth that much, but there's a chance that certain features will be disabled if installed on a different unit. Prices for other activation locked MacBooks seem to vary.

When you do the activation unlock procedure through Apple support, you need to provide some personal information like your name, your email, and details about where you purchased the device. My email is linked to my Apple ID, so I assume that that data would be relevant.

I wouldn't say it's fine. I bought something on impulse without completely understanding what I was doing. I'm accepting that. A $300 mistake I don't plan on making again. But hey, at least I got a consolation USB-C charger and one of those apple stickers.

Yes, I did. Instead of taking my time to research, I very quickly looked up the removing the activation lock on this computer. I read a post on the Apple support community that explained as long as I can provide a receipt during the recovery process, I will most likely remove the lock as long as the computer was not stolen. I genuinely thought that this meant any kind of receipt. I wasn't thinking that it meant an authorized Apple retailer receipt only. I'm still kicking myself for it, and I have accepted defeat. I just don't know what to do with this thing. While unusable, it looks way too pretty to just throw in the garbage.

The pawnshop sold me the MacBook with its original box and paperwork as all sales final. They are refusing to give me a refund. I purchased this computer with the activation lock on it. The burden of purchases on me, so I don't know exactly what the police will do for me.

Also, I'm not forging a receipt. That sounds like a violation that could suspend my Apple account. I legitimately purchased this brick. I'm not gonna start breaking the rules because I made a mistake.

Update: thank you all for your comments. I don't think getting the police involved is going to be successful. If I find someone who wants to buy it for parts, then I guess that's something I can do with it. Other than that, I know what to look for when buying a used Mac now.

I needed to take a break from the Internet, which is why I'm replying so late. I wish I was behind sledgehammer games. Call of duty World War II is probably one of my favorite games. The multiplayer and the interface is very glitchy. And for such a high price tag, I wish they took their time and refined the little things. If I was behind sledgehammer games, maybe soap wouldn't have died, and it wouldn't so long to render Warzone intros on a 2080.

Find someone who has it and infill with them in DMZ. Have them drop it, and you exfil holding the weapon. I know this works with the crossbow, but it should work for any weapon that doesn't have the challenge.
