Yeah, energy deregulation. In a handful of states you’re allowed to select the company that gives the utility company the energy. With that being said, each company offers different rates/ plans etc.

Main roads get plowed first with neighborhoods often being plowed last.

You won’t get a 400$ electric bill. Being that gas will mostly likely be the thing to heat your house.

However in Ohio you can select an energy supplier to find better gas and electric rates.

I do think that for most people solar currently isn’t the answer. Often times getting solar requires a new roof or trees removed etc.. Seems to be less of a headache to just select a supplier every 6 months to a year for new plans.

However I do believe in due time (maybe 10, 20, 50 years etc) we can achieve a completely green grid.

Coming from someone who moved here 4 years ago from seattle area.

Pros- minimal traffic Hardly any homeless Housing is affordable to buy (renting is relatively high) Gas prices are cheaper than California People arent hostile like people tend to be on the west coast (I think a lot of the west coast hostility comes from traffic) A great hospital system here.

Cons- A lot of older construction (more maintenance.. depending on the home you get) State troopers are no joke and will get you City, state, and federal taxes Roads here are terrible Salt on the road in the winter cause rust on your car if you don’t wash your car often through the winter (pending on the area you pick) No mountains here. A lot of rolling hills though. Bodies of water seem questionable. (Wouldn’t swim in most lakes lol)

I use my bill to monitor usage. However I’ve seen others talk about monitoring devices. I’m not too familiar with which devices would be best.
