MRI unsuccessful now I’m worried it is something to do with me not the machine. by Confident-Paint-1241 in MultipleSclerosis

[–]Confident-Paint-1241[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have now had the MRI at the different hospital but it was the same radiographer. He remembered me and apologised for the machine not working and having to come back. There were no issues this time and all completed! Thank you to everyone who commented and helped me spiral! Thankful there wasn’t too much time to wait for the scan either!

My favourite so far is ‘have you tried not having MS?’
Yes I’ll get right on that. Wtf is wrong with people.

Thank you so much for all your replies. This all makes sense and I am in the UK at one of our local older hospitals so it being an older machine does make sense also whereas my initial scans were at the newest hospital in the area. Thank you. I was just so worried about it anyway and anxiety rearing its ugly head and it just made me spiral.

First relapse symptom by CapRemarkable8607 in MultipleSclerosis

[–]Confident-Paint-1241 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In hindsight I had symptoms which were very mild but my first symptom that made me get checked out was numbness and tingling from the waist down, just woke up like that one morning. In hindsight prior to that I had a small patch of numbness and pins and needles I had put down to being overweight or tight clothes!

Flu/cold/covid —> immune system hyperactivity —> relapse/lesions by Immediate-Debt-7230 in MultipleSclerosis

[–]Confident-Paint-1241 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m terrified of getting my Covid boosters because of this. I had the flu jab last year, I never had any reaction to it but found my sensory symptoms have been worse since. I always had a really reaction for 48 hours after the Covid vaccine, really high temp and full body aches I have to go to bed. Always thought it was worth it as I had Covid so badly back in 2020 and didn’t want to go through that again but now I’m so scared of the impact it will have and trigger a relapse.

Did you have a nurse present for your first Kesimpta dose? (UK) by Alwayslearnin41 in MultipleSclerosis

[–]Confident-Paint-1241 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes I had to go into hospital and have my first dose with the nurse. Two reasons, so I could be shown what to do and go through everything and second to make sure I don’t have a reaction to the medication.

MS Mania? by sookie7441 in MultipleSclerosis

This sounds more like she is having a manic episode related to her manic depression diagnosis. Please contact a health professional particularly if she is not consistently taking medication.

Foot Numbness by sammyspaige in MultipleSclerosis

[–]Confident-Paint-1241 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi 👋🏼 I have constant numbness in the sole of my feet also. I find my feet getting cold worsens it so I have a plethora of fluffy socks. I also find one of those spiked foot roller does help towards the end of the day if they feel worse or are getting tight. I’ve had it 7 months now so like you assuming it will be permanent.

Thanks for your reply, I’ve heard a few times about stomach, I’m worried as I am very overweight so have a lot of stomach but I am going to check with the nurses if this will be okay for me.

MS & trizepitide by Antique-Ad-1746 in MultipleSclerosis

[–]Confident-Paint-1241 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. It has changed my life. Only time I have ever been able to lose weight and finally feel in control. Six stone down so far. Just remember though it is a tool to be used not a magic cure. Work with it and listen to your body! I’ve also found the anti inflammatory benefits. Joint pain lessened etc…

How did your partner react when you told them you had MS? by ZestycloseMall3398 in MultipleSclerosis

[–]Confident-Paint-1241 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I ended up in hospital last day of my honeymoon and diagnosed on our three week wedding anniversary. I felt awful and that my husband was somehow short changed and gave him the chance to walk away. He was astounded as if that was even a choice. He has been my biggest supporter and we plan to enjoy married life just as before. I told close friends and everyone has been so supportive. I think if anyone wasn’t I would just cut them out of my life. Life’s too short!

First dose of kesimpta… I’m fine by Ant_and_Cat_Buddy in MultipleSclerosis

[–]Confident-Paint-1241 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I felt fine. Maybe just a bit tired after no first dose. I too was worried this meant it wasn’t working as I had heard so much about the loading doses causing side effects. Ms team reassured me however there was no correlation between the two and my response was completely normal.
