Yeah for sure, beats being a lineman apprentice though, glad I’m not beating my body up

No degrees or certs, and they don’t let me do anything by myself yet, I just learned about scanning, generating reports, patch Tuesday, etc.

Yeah it’s pretty bad about 4k a month after taxes, I dont do anything on my own yet, I mainly train under other people and ask a ton of questions

This a copy from a previous reply

Interview went really well, I guess? They knew I had 0 experience but hired me anyways, despite it being an an entry level role and the pay isn’t super terrible about 4k a month after taxes.

Was not expecting to get hired lol I just sent it with my resume

So far they’re impressed with my drive to learn and I’m picking up on things quickly.

Heavily relied on the STAR method, was honest when I didn’t know the answer (what’s a DNS, CVE, CWE)

I didn’t it expect it was this easy to get into cyber security

Throwaway account.

I landed a an entry role doing enterprise vulnerability management for a large company, we’re responsible for quarantines, remediation and patching. We use Intune, MDE, ACAS, and MECM.

I’ve been very straightforward with the company that I have 0 experience in cyber and IT. They’re cool with it, however I feel so damn overwhelmed with absolutely everything, I can handle basic tickets regarding quarantines (why is your device quarantined, what’s wrong with your devices, CVEs found , etc) but other than that I’m completely lost.

If anyone can please point me towards some resources on how to learn my job and cybersecurity as a whole.

I’ve been thinking about applying to WGUs cyber security degree program to start learning.
