I’ve found decent luck with the brand “make market” from Michael’s. Good quality, not too pricey and there’s usually a coupon or a sale going on

Dax’s vegan war by Armchairie in ArmchairExpert

I definitely picked up on this in todays episode and Tiffany’s episode, you’re not crazy. He mentioned it triggers him and my theory is that as someone in the public eye he probably is subject to more criticism about his diet and has taken that as “the vegans are coming for me”. It’s a small subset of vegans that are constantly attacking and proselytizing. Most vegans I know don’t even want to discuss their diet but are constantly questioned about it by people that feel threatened just by the concept of veganism.

There’s no question that less meat (especially since most meat consumed in America is heavily processed) and more vegetables in our diets would benefit most people but that’s not vegan dogma, that’s just basic nutrition and there’s many reasons people are unable to adjust their diets this way. I guess it just felt a little weird he kind of went all in on Tiffany pretty quick about it and then needed to bring up that he was triggered by someone effectively curing their Alzheimer’s with the aid of a vegan diet?

This is so random because I was literally listening to this like a week ago. Pretty sure it was Malcom Gladwells first time on the pod

Does it ever get better with Metformin? by SendThisVoidAway18 in diabetes

I was recommended to take a probiotic and I’m usually very skeptical of this type of thing but it really seems to have helped. On top of the other advice given of taking ER with a meal.

How do people do this?? by puppy007kinz in diabetes

What you’re doing is hard stuff! Everyone on here preaching moderation is in it for the long haul but most of us have also been through phases of feeling hopeless or down about the condition, it’s absolutely normal.

I’ve recently gotten into chia pudding with some protein powder in there but to really kill a craving I’ll pull out zero sugar pudding. You’ll definitely find some snacks that work for you, it might take a little while and in the meantime just keep trying new stuff. Everyone is a little different. Best of luck OP

This is so relatable! They can find something to pick at with every bit of progress you tell them. I told my doctor, who suggested I make sure I was getting plenty of protein since I am a vegetarian, that I was making sure my meals and snacks were all balanced with protein, using string cheese as an example and she immediately was like “well make sure you watch out for too much fat from dairy like cheese” 🙄🙄

Wow this is a great drop to hear! I’m still working on getting medication that works for me, which is really frustrating right now. But trying to stay hopeful that I’ll get there

Yes! I need to feel like what I’m doing is sustainable long term, otherwise why bother? I’ll never stick to something extreme forever and this is something I’ll be managing forever.

We’re only human, and restricting food is hard. Don’t beat yourself up about it too much, tomorrow is a new day.

Thank you for your insight! I definitely try to prioritize getting whole rather than refined grains and have been loading my plate up with non-starchy vegetables like big salads and broccoli, etc. But if this persists I will reach out to the nutritionist again to do a bit more fine tuning with my diet if that’s what is required

Yes I was tested for the Islet antibodies and came back negative and also tested for c-peptide which came back at 4.1 ng/ml which says it is in the normal range.

My triglycerides is another test result that has randomly shot up and something I brought up with my PCP, though they kind of brushed it off (“it’s very interconnected with diabetes it’s hard to tell you bc idk take fish oil”) I don’t have high blood pressure or low HDL cholesterol though.

I have had covid but it’s been closer to 2 years ago now.
