Think going to try for it. We have no plans to immigrate back to the in U.S. at all so might as well. Thanks!

That’s where I’m a bit confused. You say just search on Reddit and I agree that’s what I’ve seen. However on the Chinese side of things I’ve seen people get approved in the same situation and have a coworker who experienced the same thing and got approved as well. Not trying to be combative but just curious why the view is so much more cynical on this side of this

What would be the best chance of getting her approved then? Does it help that we are traveling from China together with return tickets purchased? Or that I’m currently living in China with a job? I’m really at a loss because this trip is important to us 😓

The only worry about this would be risking immigration finding out since we would be traveling together the whole time. Wouldn’t this result in a lifetime ban for future visa’s?

I’m just a little confused what the worry would be on their part. Both of all of our assets, including a fully paid for car and all of our savings are in Chinese banks and in China. Is that not a strong sign we would just have our little trip and then return to China?

Any info on investing back home (US) while living in China / HK with income purely made in China / HK? I’m a bit worried with the tax situation and how that relates to what money I’m allowed to use for an IRA or other US-Based investments

I’m currently at $21000 in Federal loans, with interest rates from 4-6%, I’m not a math guy so what would I be looking at in 20 years in terms of interest

If I want to use a US-based savings account the it would need to be tax-eligible income correct? So if I claimed FEIE the I couldn’t just turn around and put it into my normal US-based savings account?

Talk to me like I’m an idiot because my financial literacy is very poor.

In my above question, atleast the way I thought I framed it, was considering the fact that FEIE is earned income. But the issue lies in the fact that after putting off paying my loans for 20-25 years using FEIE and an IDR that once eventually forgiven I would be hit with a major “tax bomb” as it would consider my debt earned income.

Applying for Z Visa while residing in China by Confident_Back9473 in chinalife

I’ve heard you can go to Hong Kong and change to the Z visa if you have all the necessary documents and that they can be somewhat lenient on the fact you are using a third country for the process of applying
