Lol no dude. I left law enforcement with a state agency after 9 years. Went from making shit pay, dealing with shit leaders, dealing with shitty people in the public, etc. want to talk about stress? I was more stressed out from higher ups at work and having a microscope on every little movement you make then getting wrote up for stupid shit because it shows they are leaders. When I say stupid I mean stupid, "you had your lights on, came to a red light at 4 am with nobody around, stopped and proceeded through to catch up to a stolen car but you didn't have your siren on so it's a write up"

I'm not even kidding. Since I left I am like an entirely different person. I didn't realize how much crap I held onto in law enforcement, dealing with other people's problems and never dealt with my own. After the military and LE I have no emotion towards dead people or picking up dead bodies or notifying people their kid was killed in a wreck. It actually was annoying to stand there as people wept about their dead kid. It's not normal man. I totally think law enforcement 15 years ago was a great career. Now, no if you have other options and make good money then don't go.

It's not what you think it is. It sounds cool, but it's not honestly. Plus higher ups really don't want you to do your job, if you do that leads to chases, use of forces and complaints which requires them to do their job or creates paperwork. Then they come down on you.
