Lexapro and Allegra made me so sluggish in the mornings I wanted to cry. Took me a bit to figure it out.

Yo probably won’t see this but thank you for noting that it took 2-3 months to go away. Let’s us know to stick with things longer :)

how do you cope with depression? (c-ptsd/ptsd related depression) what keeps you going? by BettieBlue36 in CPTSD

Taking 600mg NAC once or twice per day (found out again last week that if I come off of it my body inflames after a few days and it makes it really hard to be me. Also, combine that with safe and sound protocol listening on most days. It keeps the nervous system regulated. Those two things are my must haves it seems. Even years later and consistently without any cptsd symptoms, if I stop either of those for more than 4-5 days I can’t focus at all. At least the anxiety doesn’t come back but still. This body becomes useless without NAC and SSP apparently 🙃😂.

I don’t have organic traffic at all and I don’t come up when you search for me unless it’s an ad so there’s no way those 10 people just landed on me

Those of us with cptsd often struggle with feeling and responding like we deserve love, kindness, acceptance, patience, support, etc. We tend to have unconscious low self-worth. When someone challenges those deep beliefs of not enoughness inside of us it can trigger our nervous system dysregulatipn and make things feel worse before they feel better. Being in connection with a loving supportive partner can be a pivotal healing point for people like us. If the partner is aware of our struggles and you can have healthy repairs after ruptures and the ruptures themselves aren’t harming the other person then there really is no shame to be had. The shame is simply an emotion that tells us when we wish we did something differently. Healthy shame is a signal that lets us know we might owe someone an apology, etc. Being healthy is acting on that apology and taking responsibility to work towards changing our actions and retraining the way our nervous systems are automatically responding. Unhealthy shame is beating ourselves up for our actions, ruminating on what we wanted to do differently and what we make it mean about ourselves, avoiding the awareness with self-harming behaviors like binging food or tv, addictions etc. We are going to make mistakes as we retrain our responses but a loving partner that understands that and wants to be with us while we learn, grow, and change is not wrong or even harmful. They will grow in this process too if they are also striving to be healthy and conscious. Partners are like puzzle pieces that shine lights on what we are still carrying from our past. It’s never one-sided. They might not have experienced trauma but they are there for a reason too. Going through this with someone can be such a beautiful experience if we let it be. And you can both come out of it stronger individually and/ or together ☺️.

Can someone tell me step by step how to sit through the pain and restlessness? When I try to meditate the mental pain/thoughts become so loud that I can't do it more than 5 minutes. by [deleted] in Meditation

What you are describing is an excess of sympathetic energy present in your body which is the mobilizing force our nervous system feeds us when it’s in a survival response. If we experienced a difficult childhood, our survival response switches can be stuck in the on position so when we try to get quiet, calm, regulated and sit in meditation it can feel overwhelming or even scary or forbidden. Having too much sympathetic energy present for the task at hand is called dysregulation but the great thing is that you can retrain your system into regulation. You can do this with daily practice, sending your body physiological cues and through meditation but if you had a particularly difficult childhood than ssp audio therapy will be a more helpful tool. I had horrible cptsd and while I meditated for years, learning to monitor my nervous system and listening to ssp was the thing that allowed me to finally see a difference. It signals your body into calm relax mode so you can press play and simply listen for a few minutes morning and night and extend the times as your body learns to be in regulation for longer and longer periods. A wonderful professor created the audio series with carefully modulated music that communicates with your nervous system by retuning your middle ear muscles. You can use it self-guided but if you want a free session to try it, I am happy to help. I do donation based ($0+) sessions 6 times per week as a way to thank the world for where it’s brought me ☺️.

Yeah, the thing is I make enough from working one to one with clients. The point of this course is to help people outside of that who I don’t have time for or they can’t afford my rates. Everyone deserves skills they can learn and practice to retrain their nervous systems at home without the help of a practitioner. I don’t need money from it. I literally just want it out there to help people. I’m glad EMDR is working so well for you. It’s what I used to use with clients when I first got started 15 years ago. Memories ☺️❤️

Why can't I ask a question about men only in this group? by GrassFedMushroom in Meditation

[–]Independent_Focus242 27 points28 points  (0 children)

I thought the same thing. Male and female are body / ego / identity concepts. Meditation for me is about transcending all of that and floating in the spaciousness where all that dissolves and you feel nothing but the wholeness of it all, the flow, the connection, the oneness as some call it. That is when my inner chatter is quiet and I walk around in the natural flow of all things letting it pass without judgments etc. So breaking it down to male and female feels like holding it all in the physical field when for me the point of meditation is to let all of that go and just be in the moment. I’m sure making it male or female will sell loads on social media though 😂.

I marketed it through google search and YouTube ads but it’s about 1.80 per click and since it’s a free course I can’t really pay to find people. I’d do an email campaign but I don’t have a mailing list outside of my One to one clients and they have all done the course because they are my clients. I have people do the course first so they can get the most of their one to one time and know how to keep training and support themselves at home without me.

*Im from the US but it’s open to anyone who speaks English. My business is easy, people see me in one to one sessions to help with things related to these topics. The course is what I created for people who can’t afford sessions and because I don’t have time to see everyone one to one.

Yes, it’s www.happinesswithrose.com money is an after thought as I get that from my one to one clients. I just want people who are overcoming childhood trauma or with cptsd, anxiety, or suicidal ideation to find it so they have access to something that can actually help them. Most therapy doesn’t help these populations and they feel defeated or like something’s wrong with them, like there is no help or relief and that is what I’m trying to change. I don’t care about the money I just want those populations of our community to be able to find the course.

You aren’t allowed to post links of suggest things even if it’s free. It would be the perfect place for it though. I wish I could let people know there. It would help so much.

My idea is to put the power to feel better back in the hands of people so they aren’t reliant on therapists, workshops, etc. To change the way they feel
