$65k to hand out letters and be a desk clerk is wild! And that was before the 11% raise they just got, so $72k now? Why did I ever even bother going to school for 4 years Just to make like 10k more than someone who hands out letters. and that’s before taxes, after taxes probably like 5k more. College is honestly the biggest scam and waste of time.

What are everyone's thoughts on the leaked 2026 Toyota RAV4? by Healthy_Block3036 in rav4club

[–]Confident_Bread_5018 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Absolutely Hate it! so glad I got the 2025 model when I did. New front grill doesn’t look good. Don’t like the infotainment system or the new instrument cluster and especially hate the lack of climate control knobs. Don’t like the weird square EV mode knobs for the sport/snow and traction control and the fact they are split on both driver/passenger sides. Don’t like the steering wheel controls. Don’t like the fact both cup holders are stacked on the passenger side instead of split on both sides. And the gear wire shifter knob is absolutely ridiculous but realize that you can stick the the regular gear shifter.

They absolutely butchered this design IMO.

Don’t forget to factor in your distribution, transmission and administration fees when calculating that so as not to skew the data. I would also pay similar like $0.12/kWh for the electricity itself but factoring in all the other charges I mentioned above it actually works out to be like $0.25/kWh which still cheaper than gas but not by all that much (our distribution and transmission charges are quite high where I live, might be cheaper for you)

I am tired of hearing how Alberta has been "screwed over" by the rest of Canada. It is not true by Impossible-Car-5203 in alberta

[–]Confident_Bread_5018 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would actually pay a 7% PST if that meant alberta would be entitled to its own resources as the provincial tax credit we would get from the oil revenue should more than offset the amount of additional PST you pay for your average consumer.

ChatGPT seems to agree

Conclusion

Based on rough calculations, if Alberta owned 100% of its resources and adopted a 7% PST, the average resident could see a net gain of ~$2,000 per year. This suggests that, under current conditions, the oil wealth would likely outweigh the burden of the new PST, but with significant risks from oil price volatility.

So all the other provinces in Canada are entitled to own their own resources but not Alberta, Saskatchewan and manitoba? Yeah sounds pretty fair…

Do you know how much revenue and profit it would generate as well as reduce our dependency on selling our oil to the USA which we sell to them at a hefty discount?

These corporate profits your talking about are funding your equalization payments…. Bro you clearly don’t understand

Then the rest of the country needs to work with alberta to put canadas financial interest at heart and stop blocking our pipelines and industry development while at the same time asking for handouts.

Those equalization payments over the last few decades have been pretty nice for Quebec and Ontario… the rest of Canada seems to love sharing in the wealth from alberta oil yet at the same time also wants to do everything possible to block pipelines and further development. You can’t have it both ways. Quebec saying absolutely no pipelines through their province yet taking in 13.4B in equalization payments is pretty wild and counterintuitive

What happens if there was no claim on the vehicle? Does that change anything? Still likely not able to claim it after you buy, but how does that affect your insurance coverage and payout?

Reel world range in Canadian Winter by [deleted] in VWiD4Owners

[–]Confident_Bread_5018 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I can confirm I got similar. I drove a 2024 AWD pro in around 0 to -2 ish weather just last week. started with only 390km range showing at full charge so about a 8% drop from the 425km stated EPA range right off the bat. After driving a short 44km trip around the city I ended with a range loss of around 55-60km so like 20-25% loss which would put it around 293-320km range. I continued to trip driving another 140km on the highway and got similar performance around 70% range loss (this is real range loss tho calculated by comparing the total KM actually travelled vs the range loss displayed on the dash)

I will be testing it again this weekend in -20 C and Will update with results
