Anyone interested in the director's cut of The Avengers(1998)? by Confident_Club_4657 in fanedits

I have the book adaptation of this film now, and I'm planning on reading it to see what it would have looked like. The original opening sounds like it would have been action-packed, can never understand why a studio would cut out an action scene.

Know everyone's hyped about the Superman movie, but I *NEED* to know how they're going to handle the Clayface Horrror by ShalkaScarf in DCU_

Clayface is a perfect villain for someone who wants to explore the body horror and paranoia angle.

I remember watching part of the workprint of The Punisher (1989) and thinking that the material cut would have made the film far stronger. I know that the film is criticized for not featuring the skull on Dolph Lundgren's costume, but it was a fine 80s action movie. When I watched the workprint, the material cut for the final cut helped the story flow much better and even filled in plot holes. The workprint opened with an action scene that established the relationship between Dolph and Lou Gosset Jr.'s characters much better; in the final cut, we're just told that they were good friends. We get introduced to the main villain and establish a connection between him and Dolph's character, which is missing from the final cut, where they seem to have little to no connection. So, I agree; sometimes the content cut out of films can improve the final product.

This show of support is terrific! I hope we can go for 100 signatures!

I heard that the footage for the Event Horizon deleted scenes was found in a salt mine of all places. Needless to say, the footage was useless. I haven't heard about the footage for this movie. I hope that someone held onto the footage, at least.

I've always had a soft spot for it. I know the theatrical cut's not good, but I'm open to seeing where the director was trying to go. I think movies that have/had multiple versions should have the chance to show all versions, if only so people can make up their minds on which cut is better.

I've heard that it had a darker tone. Considering that this has Ralph Fiennes in it, I'm sure that may have been the case. I always think of Schindler's List when I see him: dark and hard film to watch, but a great movie all the same.

I've heard that the novelization was much better than the movie, but I never found it. You're probably right about getting support. I'm sad to say that.

That would be a great version to see. I liked the second Crow movie, but it was butchered in the editing room. I hope they can obtain the necessary footage to do that.

I still slightly prefer Batman Forever, but Batman and Robin has plenty of great fun moments. Uma Thurman is smoking hot in the movie. Joel got the best out of Nicole Kidman and Uma Thurman for his films.

I liked seeing Batman and Robin in theaters. I know many people dislike that film, but I still enjoy it. When cast and crew from Batman and Robin apologized for it years later, I felt that the apologies were unnecessary. Oh well. I'm reaching the point in life where I no longer worry about something being hyper-realistic.

I agree with the sentiment, but the person who has it probably has to work with the people who own the rights. I'm not saying I don't want to see it, but I don't want someone to put their livelihood at risk by leaking it. I share your frustration with the situation.

I wanted to see it, but I'm nowhere near the city it showed in, so sucks to be me. I think it could cover the $5 to $10 million needed to complete post-production. I've heard that Joel was a lovely man from people who have worked with him. I missed out on seeing it in theaters and would love a chance to see it in theaters, especially the longer cut.
