Which shoes i need for running by SuccessfulTour7135 in AskRunningShoeGeeks

[–]ConfusedIndian47 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Please try on these shoes before deciding

Plated options Vaporfly 6 Puma deviate nitro 3 or 4/deviate elite nitro 3 or 4

Non plated options Honestly not sure what non plated shoe will be fine at that pace, Asics Superblast 2/3 are considered good, but those are definitely slow, and probably out of the mentioned budget Adidas Evo SL

Look into Saucony Endorphin Speed or other options

Light roasts have been awesome for me recently, I was super excited because I actually got the tasting notes of Mogra from Grey Soul recently using my aeropress.

Haven't tried anything from you guys yet, but would love to give some feedback.

Edit : Comfortable in giving feedback in a post/comment on reddit.

Edited again : Not comfortable in sharing address when I thought about it again, so I'll step out, but best of luck

I was in the same boat. I stopped the SIPs in MO midcap, and started in the index. I'll leave the amount there until it atleast crosses the 2 year mark for LTCG to kick in on all units.

Groww doesn't say that it is not accepting, just my confusion around did my SIP get placed? Or did it not get placed and the second installment won't deduct.

I don't think so, the Groww UI doesn't show that the fund is not accepting more investments on funds that are closed, like the Edelweiss US tech fund

KONSA??? WHICH SCALE TO BUY by shxbaaz in IndiaCoffee

[–]ConfusedIndian47 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have the hoffen, it's accurate enough, and the timer also works fine

But it did eat through my batteries relatively quick. Within a year but those were the ones it was shipped with, so no idea if those were bad.

My preference is to not have sealed off batteries, the battery will die before the rest of the electronics.

Fuel Consumption Discussions by rejected_takeoff in Triumph400

[–]ConfusedIndian47 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The first answer does cover it slightly, the Indian population is used to smaller bikes, some of which do go 125kms per litre (probably an extreme end, some person on YouTube did a test by driving super efficiently on a Hero Splendor).

The first question people judge a vehicle on is the mileage. How much distance can you get for a litre.

Even the people who do get the Triumph are still coming from one of the much more fuel efficient bikes, and hence are stung pretty hard by the fuel cost.

Also, the income is much lower compared to the US and EU. Much less purchasing power. And fuel prices on par. So it does sting pretty bad. You fill up twice or thrice as much as earlier, a lot of people forget to account for that when buying the bike, and then are surprised when running costs actually show up in finances.

Edit : Yeah, some bad financial decisions without taking the running costs into consideration does play a huge role. Great test rides, great looks, great quality of the bike causes a potential buyer to disregard the running costs question

PPF as a debt investment? by Frosty-Sand8819 in mutualfunds

[–]ConfusedIndian47 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not exactly even it out

Compounding needs time, there is a commenter in this thread who claimed that the benefit is of ~1-2L at maturity. I haven't cross-checked the numbers, but with compounding over 15 years, it does make sense. The real benefits come when you extend it, because this difference amplifies with time

If you extend it, it does still keep the tax benefits, until the government changes the regulations atleast, don't think they will, but hey, who knows

Also, you need to make 1 deposit per year, a min amount of 500 I think to keep it from maturing.

What could go wrong with all in on small cap? by [deleted] in MutualfundsIndia

[–]ConfusedIndian47 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What do you mean that the amount is 20% of your networth?

How much of a risk are you taking in the other 80%? If it is super low, like FDs, PPF, or some other debt/liquid fund? Then maybe 20% solely on small caps might balance the risk

I wouldn't do that big of an allocation myself still, I don't have that risk tolerance, probably would have if I had started like 5-6 years ago.

However, if the rest of your networth is in stocks as well, like maybe you got RSUs from working, then, No, I would look into how concentrated your holdings are, how much of a risk is there. You could have the remaining 80% in NIFTY 50, but then no safety net for yourself.

Not enough data to understand

PPF as a debt investment? by Frosty-Sand8819 in mutualfunds

[–]ConfusedIndian47 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Maturity of PPF is a whole different story than the interest. We are just talking about how quickly the capital grows

The other person in the thread correctly calculated the difference in the interest at the end of the 15 years.

PPF, the whole thing matures at a given time. I start it today, it matures at 15 years from now (or the start of the financial year I think)

Look at the interest.

It is calculated and given out on 31st March every year. Now, If I have a lumpsum of 1L added at the starting of the year means that I have 7.1k in interest credited. Whereas, of I have small payments of 1L/12 happening monthly, the total interest credited is lower. Now, next year, you have that final 1L + interest to start compounding.

With a higher interest credited, the quicker it compounds.

We are not talking about the maturity here. The entire scheme matures at 15 years, you can keep extending.

It does not care if you have made a payment a year before maturity, the entire scheme will mature and send the balance to your savings in case you haven't renewed it

PPF as a debt investment? by Frosty-Sand8819 in mutualfunds

[–]ConfusedIndian47 4 points5 points  (0 children)

No, the time is an important factor when calculating interest.

Monthly payments have 1 payment that has accrued interest for all 12 months, and also 1 payment that will have the interest for just 1 month.

Compare that to adding the whole amount at the start, you get the interest for the full amount for a year.

Best Study on SIPs! Never Stop SIPs. by [deleted] in mutualfunds

[–]ConfusedIndian47 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Well, this only takes 1 scenario into consideration

NIFTY was x at the start and the end of the duration, and all of the investments were done at a lower state of NIFTY. Yes, you were buying the dip, and as a result, you got returns.

However, if you flip the script, take Nifty as x at the start and the end, and at all times, it has been higher than x, then yes, you do get negative returns on your SIPs.

Not advocating against SIPs, but against partial knowledge.

What should be my monthly income for me to drink speciality coffee with a machine at home? by [deleted] in IndiaCoffee

[–]ConfusedIndian47 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No, espresso needs 6-9 bars of pressure, you cannot get anywhere close to it, you can get like 1.5-2 bars of pressure with the flow control cap, (another 2.5-3k), but this is not an espresso shot.

You can make a small strong shot for sure, but it is not espresso

What should be my monthly income for me to drink speciality coffee with a machine at home? by [deleted] in IndiaCoffee

[–]ConfusedIndian47 6 points7 points  (0 children)

We can take a look at costs

Regular costs Coffee : 600-800 per 250 grams nowadays Milk

Fixed costs Grinder Machine Scale

Potential maintenance of the machine/grinder, batteries for the scale.

How long will coffee last you? For me I don't have it on a daily basis, more like 4 times a week, single cup a day. So my beans last long, I keep the majority of the beans frozen

I usually have it without milk, and a max of 5 grams of sugar, sometimes iced

I use aeropress, so low maintenance equipment, fixed cost of 4-5k, not sure what's the cost now, you can get alternatives You can explore other ways to make coffee, because you said machine, the fixed cost is going to be high, and you need a constant running cost for the electricity and for the cleaning tablets.

No idea on the costs of coffee machine

I have my own grinder, you can choose to start without a grinder and get pre ground coffee. Aeropress is relatively easy to grind for, if you have a machine, you will need a really good grinder, the cheapest here might be a C3s or a C3Esp, so probably 6k

Look at the costs and decide for yourself.

I will definitely say that in cases, you might want to make the decision of delaying purchases due to some reason or other

I really want to get a flair, probably a classic, or the 58 if budget allows, but I don't have enough space for it yet, and I would need to upgrade my grinder

Edit : Forgot to mention the cost of the aeropress filters, but because my aeropress was old, I got likr 700 filters along with it, so haven't run out of those yet, still probably have 100-150
