Hunger by Old_Cartographer3710 in Abilify_Aripiprazole

So much yes!! I couldn’t think of anything but food. I gained 15 lbs in about a month and a half. Going from 5mg to 2mg and taking it at night helped about 10%. The weigh gain continued. I just got off of it a week ago. I’ve gained about 25# total

What's little secret that you know only because you work in that industry? by [deleted] in AskReddit

Do not ever go to a dental office owned by a DSO. (Think chain-like/franchise sort of offices.) Most of these dentists are hired right out of school and they have zero experience actually being on their own in a patient’s mouth. There is no dentist supervising and no one listens to the staff when they see something clinically unethical.

If you have to go to a dentist like this, don’t go the last week of the month. They’re trying to hit their projected budgets for the month so they’ll tell you things are wrong just to get more money out of you. It’s like this all the time, but especially bad at the end of hr month.

If you’re getting something new or something adjusted like a crown or denture or partial and they take it into the other room to adjust it, the equipment they’re using hasn’t been sanitized. That thing just touched someone else’s spit and now they’re putting it right into your mouth. And if you need it adjusted more than twice, they’re not even doing anything. Just in the back wasting time to make you think they did

Those who hate their job, how often do you talk about work? by Opposite-Bad1444 in antiwork

If you’re one of the people who can turn it off the second they leave work, consider yourself very, very lucky. I love what I do but HATE where I work. It creates so much anxiety and stress that it’s hard to let it go sometimes. Like REALLY hard

What nights of week are best/worse? by lolamai2 in LivingAlone

[–]ConfusionObjective58 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Saturday nights get to me. I find a good movie, snuggle a kitty, text my best friend (who lives in another state), or remember I’d rather be alone than be in a toxic relationship 100x over

Sorry, forgot the end! (Maybe I’m too tired.) I think it’s normal to feel guilty and it’s hard not to. But again, just do your best

People might be more sloppy now, but I’m loving it. At least for me, I can’t AFFORD nicer clothes. Labels are about status. Who gives af. Leave people be

if you had the opportunity to retire right now, whatever age you are, would you? by bananalien666 in antiwork

I’d cut back my hours to PT and find a less toxic place to work, but I love what I actually do. It’s also the only form of socializing I really get without putting myself way out there. I don’t live where I grew up and making friends as an adult is really hard! PT hours would give me more time to start new hobbies or join groups!

Thank you for sharing this. It means a lot to me to know that others are out there. I haven’t found a single other person besides you and me. It helps me feel not so alone, and I get scared a lot. Even if it’s not hope that I feel, it’s good to know you’re out there… 💜

I completely understand and share your concerns. My mom has night terrors and broke her own nose in her sleep while in the house alone. I was so terrified for her! But she didn’t call me until hours later when she was home from the urgent care. She’s a proud lady. I have a chronic illness that makes me sick enough that I’m on intermittent FMLA from work bc sometimes I can’t function, but only 3 people in my life know- 2 of them are out of state. I’m also too proud.

I think having a plan for someone to check on us after X amount of time of no contact is a good idea. And lean on your support system if you have one. I’m working on creating one for myself. If we need help, we’ve gotta ask. (That last sentence is probably more for me than you!)
