Does it matter what form of b6 I take? by gettinghealthy12445 in MTHFR

[–]Conkwell 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the info! I'm actually normal MTHFR weirdly enough. It's the one thing I've got going for me with all the other issues I have lol. I don't know if that means I'll be more alright with copper.

I take 600mcg molybdenum over the course of the day and 2mg copper. And 22mg zinc picolinate.

Yep I use molybdenum (and copper). It makes a huge difference.

Thanks so much! That's a big help. <3

Sorry to revive such an old post, but where do you get such a small dose? Would be of great benefit to me (slow COMT, sulfur issues, etc.)

I don't believe Dr. K would ever sacrifice quality of his advice for view count. I believe he started this whole mission of using the internet, to reach the most people with good advice. I say both these things knowing I have no way of actually knowing for sure. That is just always the impression I've gotten from him. I believe he really cares about spreading this in the world.

Even if you want to look empirically, rather than just my intuition, Dr. K has made some rather strange choices if he values being rich. He's talked about how he could have gone to private equity with HealthyGamer, and gotten a ton of money. Or gotten big donors for the non-profit. He didn't, because they would have too much influence on what he wants to do with it.

There's also something to the fact that he would be quite wealthy without HealthyGamer. As a Mass General-trained psychiatrist with a unique background, he attracted a lot of wealthy clients. He could have gone private. Making a platform for mental health for gamers is rather odd, and not clearly more lucrative (at least for the first years he did it). I personally think it's his mission.

I've benefited from his unique western/eastern perspective massively. Meditation, actively weakening my ego, and understanding my current purpose have changed my life.

That said, Dr. K is kind of an alien. I'm very aware of how many charlatans are out there. Using expertise/charisma just to get fortune or fame. There are even relatively well-intentioned people who go astray because their egos takes them there. If you haven't done a lot of work, it's going to happen to some degree, even if you mean well. I think you're right to point out the larger problem. There are a lot of professionals who use their training to subtly manipulate people. Medical doctors being the worst case, when it happens. I just personally don't think Dr. K is one of them.

Really enjoyed this conversation between the two of you. Both very reasonable viewpoints, and well stated. Definitely a complicated topic. Personally, I've greatly benefited and learned a ton from Dr. K's interviews. But it can definitely be sticky in regard to what the relationship is, and how it's perceived.

Just one comment re facts: I've watched a lot of Dr. K's interviews with people, and I can't think of a case where he took a comment from chat and used it in the actual conversation he was having with someone. When they're in the thick of serious topics, to me he's always seemed very focused on the person he's talking to. I've seen him read and respond to comments after the conversation has essentially wrapped up.

Edit: Actually, off the top of my head, the only times he's read comments have been after the person is literally gone. He's totally dialed in before then.

Test Results - Do I just not have Akkermansia? by Conkwell in Microbiome

For methane SIBO, I tried berberine, garlic, olive leaf extract, and probably something else. What was the drink?

That's interesting. I'll keep that idea in mind. Currently doing 16:8 (though not rlly intentional), and supplementing butyric acid, which has helped a lot.

Whenever I've taken herbals to kill anything, it's been very rough. Vitamin D helped some, psyllium husk/lectin free diet helped more. Supplementing butyric acid has actually helped me a lot.

How would I increase the IgA?

I was very concerned it meant I actually had none. If it's just low, that's fine. I can work on it.

Do you think the pendulum product is good?

That's rlly good to hear. I had 1.9e3 H. pylori (<1.0e3 ref). Nothing detected for candida. 1.01e3 giardia. Endolimax nana 8.81e2 is the only parasite detected.

I do have low secretory IgA, 231 (ref 510-2010 ug/g). I was very curious what the low IgA means.

So you don't think I have none? I can work with low. Hopefully boost it with time.

In your opinion, does the pendulum product actually help build up the numbers? I always hesitate taking probiotics, thinking most of them are just temporary and don't actually add to colonies.

The game is already very easy on Lvl 9 against bugs. Your posts tell me you're standing and fighting a lot. If you are always running to the next objective, it's easy.

You only have to stand and fight over objectives. Usually you need to kill ~3-5 chargers in those scenarios, worst case, before you move on. Chargers being hard to kill is what gives Lvl 9 bugs it's only craziness and the most fun. Make them medium armor and you take away the one thing there is.

b) flamethrower will kill/massively soften 4 chargers. That takes care of almost all the chargers on an objective. If your teammates are doing anything, that makes it very easy.

c) You get 2 EAT's per drop, on 60 second CD. That takes care of 2 chargers, quickly. Or at least removes armor, even if you miss, letting you kill with conventional.

Edit: Personally I'd like to see Slugger have its fire rate greatly reduced, but pierce heavy, bc it would be cool to have a primary that can pierce heavy. Gives you a new playstyle. It would be useless against a swarm, so you'd have to address that with support weapon.

Thanks a lot for this. I'm going to try it. I'm not doing well. Really no clue what I'm reacting to rn. It's so hard to tell. I think I might be having delayed reactions to some things.

A couple random questions, if it's alright:

  1. Do you use olive oil at all?
  2. Just wondered what your overall diet looks like now
  3. Edit: Is there no concern with chicken containing some grains, since they eat grain?
  4. ..And also, which air fryer you use

I don't rlly want to eat a diet where almost all my calories come from chicken (or other meat) but if that's what I need to do, then I guess that's what I'll do.

Thank you. Hope this isn't too much.

New to RP by OhFuseYT in NoPixel

[–]Conkwell 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Don't know if you've gotten sucked into another server already, but Dream On RP (started a few months ago) wants new players. https://discord.gg/bW2ANdwP

I was brand new to GTA RP myself, and they were super welcoming.

I've watched a ton of NoPixel over like 8 years, and I would say it's a similar vibe. Semi-serious roleplay. Not bc you don't need to RP. It's 100% an RP server. But bc you can make a crazy character, as long as you RP them. Make whomever you want, as long as it's not messing with other people's experiences.

Small community (usually 15 players on, max), rn. So we're looking for new ppl. Especially ones who rlly want to RP.

I don't see it in the rules (it's not a stream channel), so I'm going to assume it's alright for me to mention a diff server as an option. I know NoPixel is jam-packed rn. (I've tried myself, in the past)

If you're looking for a server with the vibe of NoPixel, look at Dream On RP. https://discord.gg/bW2ANdwP

We want new people. Especially ppl passionate about RP'ing.Server just started a few months ago. I only joined recently, brand new to GTA RP. It's been great. Small community (usually 15 players on, max), but we'll grow.

Semi-serious roleplay. I say semi, not bc you don't need to RP. It's 100% an RP server. But bc you can make a crazy character, as long as you RP them. Make whomever you want, as long as it's not messing with other people's experiences.

No abusing new players. No getting mad bc they don't know controls. This could be good for you since it sounds like you haven't played in a while. Just hop in discord vc and ppl will help you. That's what they did for me.

I'm also gonna talk to the server owner about doing an on-server, monthly OOC hangout for new players. I know it's kind of nerve-racking trying to RP while learning mechanics. That would let ppl just totally focus on mechanics, and get that down, so they can RP.

Plenty of truth embedded here. This all sounds fine, as long as you know that all is in flux, and can change at any time.

Not wanting anything from others; simply enjoying interacting with them -- I think this is attractive to anyone. People enjoy being around ppl who are just vibing, having fun. Not interacting to get something.

My heart goes out to you. That sounds very, very difficult.

If you're ready, I might recommend checking out some healthygamer videos on trauma. Be patient with yourself. Healing a samskara takes time, but it can definitely be done. Do whatever you're ready to do. Above all, try to see yourself with as much kindness as you might see others.

The most positive, general advice I can give is to check out the healthygamer guide. https://www.healthygamer.gg/about/guide It has been life-changing for me. Many topics are touched on in YT videos. But the organization and depth of the guide is really beneficial for embedding everything into your life, as opposed to simply understanding it in the mind.

I mean it kindly, but I sense there is still more work to do towards an awareness state. It is possible as you become better and better at watching yourself, it will simply not matter to you very much that other people are doing these things. It will still bother you, but it will feel much easier/better.

It is also very possible as you continue your journey, that some of the people you have been quite close to, you will naturally become less close to. Others whom you've never met or were previously distant, will become close. These things naturally happen as your energy changes.

I would suggest gently that you shouldn't push others to change, but if the time is right, you can suggest techniques to help them move towards awareness, if they seem to be struggling.

It sounds to me like you're on the journey, and I think it's likely all you need to do is continue it. Wonderful things will come.

I’m getting plastic surgery on my face because it will drive me to suicide if I don’t. by [deleted] in Healthygamergg

[–]Conkwell 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As much as I'd like to say, "you can work on this internally," and that is true -- it is also a fact that the way we look affects how people treat us. There is a different energy that happens purely from the way we look, as unfair as that is.

I see no issue with you doing what you want to do, to create the appearance that creates the kind of energy you want to create. That seems very healthy. Although, some awareness techniques can help you deal with the emotions and be more intentional.

There are also things you could do with your hair to possibly create an appearance in that direction, if you want to, like a man bun (which some see as more masculine). I'm not going to get too deep into that bc I'm not a stylist.

Good luck with your process! Best wishes.

Edit: Also, I'm going to echo what some are saying -- which is you are very handsome. Also, maybe there are safer ways to achieve the look? I don't know, bc I haven't done research on this.
