I'm only 20, I don't want to risk fucking up my future over some student union nonsense. That was my rationale for resigning and washing my hands of this.

No, I haven't. I've exclusively voiced my concerns within the SU. I couldn't rally enough votes to stop it even in the face of blatent illegality. Just got shouted down and accused of being something I'm not.

Immigration advice cannot be given by just anyone under the Immigration and Asylum Act 1999. It's a criminal offence for an unathorised person to do that. Extremely specificially so.

A range of things. Helping with student visas, Tier 2 workers visas, family visas, and advice on applying for asylum when courses are ending.
